Steeped in history, Whitby is the perfect backdrop for hosting special events such as Whitby Regatta and Whitby Folk Week during the summer. The Goth weekends in Spring and Autumn, and the many music and arts festivals throughout the year.

With family entertainment available at Whitby Pavilion (5 minutes walk from Pantiles), and good quality museums such as the Captain Cook museum and the Pannett museum and art gallery, Whitby really does have something for everyone to enjoy.

The atmospheric East Cliff, with the old Abbey ruins, and St Mary's churchyard with it's Dracula connections, reached via the famous 199 steps, is a dramatic focus point for the town, and affords great views of the town and miles of coastline down to the picturesque old village of Sandsend.

“immaculate, well situated property with all mod cons.Parking space a great bonus!”

Reviewed 21 Feb 2017

We chose Pantiles for our annual trip to Whitby after speaking with the owners as we left a nearby property last year. They were kind enough to show us around the property as they spruced it up. Upon arrival the property was immaculately clean. Comfortable beds, WiFi for those that need it. This is a real gem of a property, and Alison was swift with communications, even allowing us to add an additional night to our stay when I contacted her during our stay. 5 minutes walk and you're in town, a great location. The flat is cosy and warm (even in February when we visited). Lots of info about local services and tourist attractions and local walks are available in the property. The flat is so well appointed, and we want to express our gratitude to the property manager and cleaner. The best holiday let we've ever used. This will be our first choice for future trips to Whitby, a town we've grown to love. It's clear that Alison, her husband and the property manager have worked exceptionally hard to create such a wonderful place to stay, a home from home...and it all started by chance when the owners invited us to take a look as we were leaving following a previous stay in the same street. I shall certainly be recommending the property to friends and family who visit Whitby from time to time. Huge thanks to the team that own / manage the property. The only potential problem would be for people with difficulty ascending / descending stairs as the property is a first floor bungalow. Other than that, this is an ideal property for all. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

“Modern, clean and very comfortable, highly recommended.”

Pantiles is a lovely place to stay, everything was of the highest standard, the rooms are welcoming, warm and full of light. The location is fantastic, in a quiet courtyard with lovely views only a 5 minute walk to the harbor. Everything we needed was provided. Whitby offers lots to do, wonderful cliff walk to Robin Hoods Bay, interesting shops, fantastic places to eat and the steam train makes for a lovely day into the moors. Altogether we enjoyed every minute of our visit, Thank you.

“Walking distance to everything, clean and comfortable!”

We loved our stay here. This apartment is surprisingly spacious. Good room sizes and everything you could want to settle in quickly. Lots of leaflets and information about the area. We booked last minute and the owners kindly gave us a short break deal, which was very reasonable. The only slight down side to me as I had to work whilst away, was no wifi access, but the owners directed me to a local free wifi cafe, which was really helpful (and serves great coffee!). Although accessible to the town on foot, the courtyard is tucked away nicely and we found it to be very peaceful and quiet. A lovely holiday let for a family. Thanks!
