Description

We are proud of our property which is a Grade II Listed Georgian cottage over 200 years old and has been sympathetically renovated and respectfully modernised where appropriate. The cottage is located a short distance from shops, restaurants, pubs and the harbour. Our purpose is to provide everything possible for our visitors to enjoy their holiday in Whitby which is such a beautiful, picturesque fishing town.

From all three levels of our cottage, including the dining kitchen and the separate patio and garden, you can enjoy the classic view of the Church and Abbey sitting above old fishing cottages which cling to the East Cliff. There are sea views beyond the piers of the harbour.

We have a gallery on the second floor and a snug on the first floor, both of which are extra seating areas which you might not expect to enjoy in a fisherman's cottage and both enjoy the fabulous views. There is a further seating area in the main bedroom too.

Location description from owner

The Yorkshire region

Whitby is a classic, historic fishing village and all-year-round destination that is very popular with visitors. In our West Cliff area, there is a long sandy beach with pretty beach huts in attendance. Whitby Abbey and St Mary's Church sit above the town, adding to the attractive views of the sea and harbour.

Bram Stoker's Dracula featured Whitby and this has resulted in two Goth weekends each year when many visitors dress up in fabulous costumes. Whitby harbour is steeped in history and nearby is the museum about Captain James Cook who served his apprenticeship in the town and embarked from here on his world changing exploration voyage on Endeavour.

Central Whitby

Whitby is on the famous and dramatic Yorkshire Coast and also sits at the edge of the beautiful North Yorks Moors. Visitors can take the steam train inland as far as Pickering or to Goathland in Heartbeat country. Robin Hoods Bay, Scarborough and Staithes are our coastal neighbours.

“Fabulous stay at September cottage”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2016

Just returned from a fab stay at September cottage. The cottage was lovely and clean with everything we needed. The bedroom with four poster bed was stunning with lots of room. Our six year old son loved the porthole on the stairs and the views of the abbey from the top floor. Lovely to have breakfast looking at the lovely views every morning. Great stay.. Will definitely return.

Thank you so much for your review. You are welcome back anytime!

“A delightful terraced cottage”

Reviewed 7 Dec 2015

A delightful terraced cottage over looking the harbour in Whitby with views across to the Abbey. Centrally located it is yards from the main shopping street and a short walk down to the harbour. The property well renovated and maintained retains many period features including a wonderful fireplace in the large bedroom on the first floor, indeed the cottage is deceptively large with a number of small quiet areas on the 3 floors adding to the cosy lounge. Whilst we only used one of the three bedrooms the discount offered off season made the cottage an ideal property from which to enjoy the delights of Whitby and the N York coast.

Thank you very much for writing your review.

“Fantastic cottage, excellent location”

Reviewed 14 Oct 2015

This is a fantastic cottage in an excellent location in Whitby on Cliff Street. Only minutes to the town, beach, train station etc. Our group of 6 included 2 children aged 6 and 9 and their grandparents and everyone seemed to have their favourite bit of the cottage, grandad in the snug, kids on the top floor - plenty room to spread ourselves out! I would highly recommend it. There are fantastic views, lovely clean interior and having breakfast in the garden was wonderful. We had a brilliant holiday and have already booked to return to September Cottage next year.

Thank you very much for your kind words. We are always pleased when guests enjoy our cottage and are particularly pleased when they enjoy it enough to return.

“PERFECT VIEW”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2015

Lovely cottage very clean every-thing you needed was there lovely view and nice little garden and very handy for the centre of Whitby we ate at the Magpie every night so it was very easy to roll home

Thank you very much for your comments. The Magpie is hard to resist when it is just around the corner!

“What a lovely cottage”

Reviewed 9 Jun 2015

We have been staying at September Cottage for 3 years now and have booked it for a fourth. It is charming, comfortable, well equipped. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. It has sea views from several windows. it is just magic to sit having a meal overlooking the sea. The main bedroom is so spacious. We have had 5 people comfortably staying there. the living room is quite small but we didnt tend to use it that much as Whitby is such a lovely place to be out in. It is fine. There is a great little study with a tele and music system if you want to get away from the rest of the group. I would highly recommend this cottage.we love it.

Regular customers gladden our hearts! You are welcome back anytime! Thank you for taking the time to give us a review

“Excellent - Fantastic accomodation and location - highly recommended”

Reviewed 9 Jun 2015

I visited the accomodation with family in May and what a great place to stay. Fantastically well kept and great location close to the town centre. A parking permit is provided as well. This is a great location for couples or familes and is one of the best places I have ever stayed at in Whitby. Highly highly recommended and very reasonably priced. Will be back in September!

Thank you so much! You are very welcome back anytime.

“Comfortable period property with great views”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2014

Attractively decorated & comfortable period property with some of the best views of Whitby. One of Ingrid Flute's best properties, clean & tidy, with everything you need. You just spend much of your time looking at the fantastic views when in the house. WiFi, a garden & parking permit are a welcome bonus. Highly recommended for couples or extended families.

Thank you very much for your kind words and for taking the time to write them.
