From the owner

A south-facing 100 sq/mtrs canalside apartment on the Dorsoduro, which is one of the quietest and most sought-after areas of Venice. The apartment lies 2 minutes from the delightful Zattere and 1 minute from charming Campo Santa Margherita. It is close to all the major sights, but away from the main tourist traps, making a stay here restful even in the busiest months. The whole interior has recently been restored (June 2007). Rooms are bright and spacious and most have moulded plaster ceilings with old Murano chandeliers; floors are of travertine limestone, carrara marble or ceramic sandstone. 2 of the 3 bedrooms look out over the canal and the living room has a very large comfortable sofabed. The apartment has a separate well-equipped kitchen. Other features/facilities include Internet access, flat-screen TV, DVD player and stereo, film library and a comprehensive selection of Venetian-themed books. The apartment is beautifully furnished throughout with a mixture of contemporary and antique styles, including a magnificent Henri II carved walnut bed.

Access - there are just 4 steps up to the apartment - otherwise there is level access to the Ca' Rezzonico vaporetto and traghetto stop on the Grand Canal. There is only one bridge to cross to reach the Zattere and San Basilio vaporetto stop

At Ca' San Sebastiano you can expect to find what is often lacking from many self-catering apartments, including feather pillows, umbrellas and walking sticks, a fully equipped picnic basket and coolbag, electrical adaptors, postcards, a good selection of Venetian and Italian CDs and DVDs, as well as an impressive library of books on Venice and more general literature. There are some folding chairs to take to sit out by the canal.

The very well equipped kitchen means you can take full advantage of the superb local markets, including the fish and vegetable stalls in Campo Santa Margherita, just 1 minute's walk from your kitchen.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send David (the owner) a message.

If David (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
