Description from owner

Description

Modernised in 2013 by a top Parisian architect, this 2 bedroomed chic haven of calm directly overlooks the tomb of Napoleon and the Invalides. It is two minutes from Latour Maubourg metro (line 8), two stops south of Concorde (lines 1 and 8).

On the first floor, with lift, this is a 21st century apartment in a 'Belle Epoque' building. It has one large bedroom with ensuite bathroom, one smaller twin bedroom with shower room ensuite, separate WC, modern glass walled kitchen, large combined salon and dining room.

You will find 200Mb broadband Internet (max) with RJ45 outlets and good wifi, 3 TVs (one with Skype, the others with YouTube), and modern designer furniture. The apartment is managed on behalf of the owner by 'Acceuil-Appartement', a top Parisian servicing agent who can provide additional services (payable) as required and who will deal with all meet, greet, contracts and payments and minor problems guests have with appliances etc.

The owner regularly stays in the apartment when in Paris.

The apartment is fully double glazed throughout keeping it cooler in summer and warm in winter. All bed linen and towels are supplied along with a welcome pack. You will need to supply an advance deposit against damages equivalent to one week's rental.

We are happy to welcome children but no pets. This is a totally no smoking apartment. Smoke detectors are fitted.

The apartment is heavily booked often with repeat clients booking directly , and the owner does his best to fit his own needs and dates around those of his clients.

Nearby: The Tomb of Napoleon is barely three minutes walk; the Eiffel Tower is an easy 15 minute stroll, The D'Orsay Museum is also about 15 minutes walk away; the Champs-Élysées is two stops on the metro to Concorde; the Luxembourg Gardens a 12 minute bus ride from Ecole Militaire nearby; other buses and metros get you to The Louvre, Arc de Triomphe and other monuments within 15 minutes.

The apartment is exactly in the centre of of Paris' most fashionable and bourgeois arrondissement -the 7th. You are surrounded by superb restaurants, fashionable (if expensive shopping), some of the best markets in Paris including Rue Cler just 6 minutes walk away. There are several good cheap supermarkets within 5 minutes stroll.

The apartment block is quiet, bourgeois and French. The co-owners and residents value their calm and peace but they have all been charming to our guests.

Minimum period of stay is one week: maximum two months (negotiated with the owner). It is an ideal and central location to explore Paris, France and the rest of Europe.

Last but not least, the appartment comes with a selection of DVDs for all ages, some board games, a selection of books on Paris, the fine 'peacock' evening dinner service as well as child friendly crockery etc.

Location description from owner

The Ile-de-France region

PARIS - wonderful, light, loving, fashionable, gastronomique. You will return again and again!

Central Paris

The 7th Arondissement is the heart of old bourgeois Paris. This is where some of the finest restaurants can be found. It has been the heart of government for generations. Chic boutiques line the roads and avenues. It is where the EIFFEL TOWER and INVALIDES reside and just across the SEINE from the Champs Elysees, the LOUVRE, the GRANDS PALAIS, the Place de la Concorde.

It has more public green space then nearly any other area of paris. It combines peace and culture with chic and gastronomy.

“Fantastic month in Paris!”

Reviewed 27 Oct 2015

72 Latour Maubourg was the perfect place for my husband and I to spend a month living like Parisians. The apartment is very bright, spacious and well appointed. Ian is great to work with. He is very responsive and helpful. We really appreciated all his info prior to our arrival and he has put together the "War and Peace" of info on how to operate everything in the apartment and what to see and do in the neighborhood and beyond. We found that we referenced "Read Me" a few times during our stay. We loved the apartment. It is very comfortably furnished. The kitchen is very well appointed and has everything you need to cook delicious meals. We loved the nespresso machine and had fun going to the boutique a few times to pick out our pods. The bed in the main bedroom was comfortable and the room is quiet and has plenty of storage. The showers have amazing water pressure! That was a nice feature! The apartment is very well located. We loved the view of the Invalides from the living/dining room. The metro is a short walk away as are useful bus stops. We loved the neighborhood-Rue Cler is a quick walk as are several grocery stores. There are several boulangeries and fromageries and sidewalk cafes within walking distance. Our favorite place to walk was the Eiffel Tower. We would walk there often-it never gets old. Our stay at Latour Maubourg was fantastic. We really felt at home and enjoyed our month is Paris. We would highly recommend this apartment for a wonderful stay in Paris.

“Incredible place & host”

Apartment comfortably fits a family of four? Check. Apartment is ideally located in Paris'? Check. Apartment is well maintained and downright beautiful? Check. Owner of the apartment is a master communicator? Check. Apartment assists in perfect Paris vacation? Check. I can't say enough about how wonderful this place is in Paris. I've rented places throughout the world, and while all have been great, this one ranks at the top without question. And the owner whom I never met, but felt like an old best friend, was bar none the best. His thorough and personable communication was part of the whole stellar package. This was one place which was truly hard to leave, and I look forward to a return visit!

“excellent location, very comfortable”

Reviewed 17 Sep 2015

My husband and I and my children 18 and 20 years old loved the apartment. The owner was most helpful with information prior to our arrival which was a great help, and a warm welcome awaited us on arrival. The apartment has a superb view and was well situated within easy walking and Metro access to the sights of Paris. The rooms were very comfortable and the kitchen well appointed. Everything was clean and worked perfectly. We would happily return and would recommend it highly.

“A wonderful apartment in a terrific neighborhood.”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2015

We have found "our" apartment. Well-designed (the main bathroom is a dream) comfortable, spacious, excellent location, perfect neighborhood, quiet and just right for us, including our teen daughters. I have never seen a vacation rental so well-equipped. You could cook anything you wanted. The apartment gets wonderful light and even with the 90 F (30 C) weather we could keep it cool while we were away during the day by closing the shutters and excellent blackout drapes and there were fans too. The owner, Ian, was incredibly responsive and has loads of information on the apartment, the neighborhood and Paris in general. I've never had such a wonderful experience, both with the owner and the rental itself. We will return as soon as possible.

“No better palce to stay in Paris”

Reviewed 29 May 2015

This is a lovely apartment in a charming part of Paris which also provides visitors with an amazing view of one of the city’s most iconic buildings. Although we have rented apartments in many parts of Paris for more than 25 years this was quite definitely the best we have ever found. Making a choice is never easy but this time there was no need to worry. The apartment was spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable, very quiet and safe and all the equipment and sophisticated fittings more than met our needs. We enjoyed the fact that although the renovations have produced a sleek, modern design the old fireplaces, radiators and doors retain the old Parisian feel of the apartment. The ‘Read This’ file provided by the owner contains every piece of information you could possibly need to enjoy all the facilities provided as well as advice about enjoying Paris. We doubt you could find a better place to stay.

“Excellent, central, well appointed apartment, great interaction with owner before and during”

Reviewed 10 May 2015

We were three adults who spent a week in this wonderful apartment (2 friends for first half of the week, and one couple for the latter half). I had excellent communication with Ian, the owner, on a variety of topics in advance of our trip. He was always prompt and helpful. The apartment has two good sized bedrooms each with their own bathroom (only one toilet which is a separate space in the entry, which was the same as our friends' apartment up the street). The beds were comfortable and linens great. There was a large, central and bright dining and living room overlooking the dome of Invalides. The kitchen was also bright and spacious and although we didn't really cook in, from my extensive experience in renting travel apartments, I can attest it was very well stocked with cooking supplies. There was a nespresso machine (a handful of pods provided upon arrival), a washing machine with dryer, and a dishwasher with ample pods provided (again, not always the case!). The apartment was overall quite quiet. There were plenty of good restaurants and bakeries nearby. In addition, it was half a block from the metro which made getting around on rainy days easy. Absolutely no complaints or concerns. It would also be very suitable for families.

“Perfect location and so comfortable”

This place was excellent for location. With our very young children we could easily get to all attractions, restaurants etc. it was also extremely spacious and comfortable with all modern appliances. Best stay in Paris ever. The owner is also extremely attentive.

“so close to the heart of Paris”

Reviewed 4 Dec 2014

An elegant apartment very tastefully decorated, with all the modern facilities you expect, and more. Such a lovely spacious living room with that amazingly close view of Invalides - never tired of gazing at this historic monument at all times of the day and evening. We liked the simple, clean-cut, high-tech feel of the apartment and the meticulous and informative handbook compiled by the owner. The location within the 7th arrondissement of Paris is so conveniently close to amenities - the lovely Rue Cler is within 3 minutes walk - we simply indulged in the cheese, bread, wine and the food - eating out as well as cooking. Do visit Bon Marche a most beautiful department store, and chill in Luxembourg Gardens, all within an easy bus ride. We'd go back again definitely.

“Wonderful Paris Apartment - 2 bedrooms/2 bath You would be lucky to stay here.”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2014

We were thrilled to find and stay in this gorgeous apartment. - large sunny rooms, perfection in taste, decor, furnishings and more. We stayed for a month and look forward to returning. The location is ideal - a quiet and beautiful neighborhood - close to the Metro, wonderful restaurants and shops. The big windows overlook the gorgeous Les Invalides gold dome - stunning. A 10 minute walk to the Eiffel tower, Rodin, and many museums makes for a wonderful location. We like to cook and there is a fully stocked and terrific remodeled kitchen, washer/dryer, beautiful bathrooms - apartment makes this the ideal get-away home in Paris. We long to return.

“50th Anniversary in Paris”

Reviewed 3 Dec 2014

We found this apartment to be ideal for the two weeks we were in Paris, and highly recommend it to all, however long they want to stay. The accommodations exceeded our expectations, as it has been fully renovated with superior amenities. The owners have gone "above and beyond" to welcome visitors, with complete information about, and pictures of, the apartment and surrounding neighborhood, which includes the well-known Rue Cler shopping area, only minutes away. In addition to we three "seniors", other family members were also in Paris and visited with us, and they too loved our apartment. The central location gave us ready access to the wonderful sights of Paris, via Metro, taxi, which were a very short walk from the apartment, or by walking for those so inclined. The view of the "Dome Church" from the apartment is one we will never forget. Also nearby is the Rodin Museum with its lovely gardens. There are numerous restaurants nearby, all of which were good. The memorable restaurant was "Les Parisennes", where we celebrated a birthday dinner with our extended family members. While we did little cooking, the availability of grocery shopping nearby, whether the gourmet shops of Rue Cler or the every day needs provided by the Carrefours grocery, and the owner's providing of a full range of utensils and dishes, made anything possible. In a word, "Magnifique!"
