Description from owner

Description

Characterful cottage in a unique and extremely sought after location on a secluded and very quiet no through road. Within walking distance of Shoreditch, Brick Lane, The City, Docklands.

2 minutes walk District Line (Stepney Green), 5 minutes Central Line (Mile End). Garden front and rear. 2 bedrooms - one double with a king sized bed, one single/double with a queen sized bed, 1 bathroom, living room, conservatory, kitchen (with washing machine, fridge and freezer, and oven).

The cottage and it's hidden street feature often in guided walks around East London because of it's unique very central location and historic interest.

"... Indeed, the turning off Mile End Road that leads into this little, secret oasis, looks more like the entrance to an industrial unit or builders yard and, consequently, you could easily walk straight past this little throwback to bygone London without giving it a second glance."

Location description from owner

The England region

Two minutes walk from Stepney Green Tube, which is one stop out of Zone 1 on the Tube Map. Walking distance to the City, Shoreditch, Brick Lane, Columbia Road, Hoxton Square, Victoria Park, Mile End Park, Regents Canal, Whitechapel Road market and much more.

It's really easy to get around as a pedestrian or indeed by bicycle which is one of the nicer ways to travel. Bike stands are very close and a lovely way to get around is to find the Regents Canal and cycle along this. The canal runs through the centre of London and you can easily find your way to any part of London.

The West End is within 20 minutes ride on the Central Line, or indeed the Number 25 bus which stops right at the end of the street and runs 24 hours a day.

A really vibrant and totally multicultural part of East London.

Central London/Zone 2

The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is a London borough to the east of the City of London and north of the River Thames. It is in the eastern part of London and covers much of the traditional East End. It also includes much of the redeveloped Docklands region of London, including West India Docks and Canary Wharf. Many of the tallest buildings in London occupy the centre of the Isle of Dogs in the south of the borough. A part of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is in Tower Hamlets. The borough has a population of 272,890, which includes one of the highest ethnic minority populations in the capital and has an established British Bangladeshis business and residential community. Brick Lane's restaurants, neighbouring street market and shops provide the largest range of Bengali cuisine, woodwork, carpets and clothes in Europe. The local authority is Tower Hamlets London Borough Council.
