Location description from owner

The England region

London - one of the most famous capital cities in the world and covers the 10 square miles on both areas of north-south River Thames. The City of London was the original London of Olde but after it burnt down in the 1600s, it was rebuilt and it extended to both the East, West, North and South. The West End is now considered Central London whilst the East End and the rest of London are viewed as less central mainly due to the fact that all the main famous bars, nightclubs, Cinemas, Theatres and Restaurants are based in the West-End. The East end is actually closer to the City and its historical centres such as St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, London Bridge and Tower of London. All of the areas that now make up London are jam packed full of tourist attractions, activities, shops, restaurants and bars. The most popular attractions that bring hoards of tourists and sightseers to London are the British Museum, Tate Modern, London Eye and Natural History Museum, just to name a few! One thing is guaranteed with London...you will not run out of things to do in !

Central London/Zone 2

Whilst I might be slightly biased towards my home city, London is truly a city that encapsulates amalgamation of every culture in the world. It is truly a world in one city. All you need to do to believe this is to walk around our beautiful city and truly be amazed! Whilst it is our capital city, it is more likely to be the world's capital city as predestined by its initial creators, The Romans.Bow is said to be named from the bridge that spanned the River Lea in this neighbourhood, and which was built under the direction of Matilda, wife of Henry . It was called Bowe, because the bridge was arched like unto a bowe, a rare piece of work, for before that time the like had never been seen in England.'Bow is now primarily a residential area for the City Professional(Investment Bankers and City Lawyers etal) and boast an amazing Park (Victoria Park) with has its own lake and Deer park in the centre. Bow also has an amazing network of water-way canals with interesting pubs and walk-ways. Bow is famous for its historic Bow Bells of London immortalized in legendary English Poems of olde.London encapsulates everything that is British, with the black cabs zooming around, the iconic red double deckers or BIG Ben in Westminster. The silhouette of Tower bridge above the muddy Thames and the world-famous London Eye that is barely a decade old encapsulates everything that is evolutionarily BritishWhatever your interest might be you will find a museum for your test. For the art lover you have the National Gallery, Tate Modern and Royal Academy of Art. Next to each other you will find the Natural History Museum and Science Museum and certainly not to miss is the collections from all around the world at the British Museum. The good thing is that you will rarely pay any entrance fee at the museums in London. To get the dust off your shoulders, take advantage of all the lovely parks found scattered around the city. Regent’s Park, Hyde Park and St. James Park are all in the city centre but just a Tube ride away and you can enjoy Hampstead Heath or Richmond Park. Or why not visit the well-known London Zoo.

“Great base to discover London”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2013

Babs was brilliant and very professional in giving us all the info for the apartment, near by shops and getting around London. The apartment has all the utilities we could need for a short stay, but make sure you turn up with loo roll, tea, coffee etc or you might be running to the shops with in minutes of your arrival as nothing is supplied, which is a bit of a pity if your new in the country. Bedding could do with replacing as it was a bit over worn but clean, you do have to clean the entire apartment before leaving including washing bedding, towels and bath mat which when having to leave for the airport at 2am is a serious hassle.

“Nice place, good location”

Nice accomodation right next to the tube. Near the olympic venue and close enough to various attractions in London. Interior of the unit was very nicely decorated. Cozy and has all the necessary amenities.

“Great apartment right next to a tube for easy access and travel”

Reviewed 15 Nov 2011

Babs was very professional and made sure we were comfortable in the apartment. The location is great as you are just a few feet from the Bow Road tube station for easy access to all the sites. It has two bedrooms with plenty of space and the living area is excellent to relax in and watch tv or eat a meal. The kitchen has everything you need. The apartment was exceptionally clean and everything is new. Right down the road, 5 minutes in both directions, are two food stores that have everything you need and of course right across the street is a pub. The apartment is across the street from a police station so you can't ask for a safer area! We would certainly use this apartment again.
