Description

This modern one double bedroom apartment is situated on a quiet street nestled in the heart of London (Zone 1), and so central that you share a postcode with the Queen and can walk to many of the main tourist attractions.. The living room sofa can be folded out into a small single bed for a third guest. Situated on the first floor (one floor up from street level via a carpeted staircase) of an exquisite Victorian townhouse, built in 1846, the apartment works well for holidays, short breaks or business-visits.

Making the most of every inch of space, there is a small desk area and a two-seater sofa, as well as another comfortable sitting room chair.

The delightful bedroom contains a full-sized double bed (5'6” or 150 cm wide) made up with high quality bedding, fitted sets of drawers beneath, a well lit dressing table (we supply a hair dryer) and access onto the south facing balcony - a perfect spot for your morning coffee or evening drink! Roomy fitted wardrobes are in the lobby outside the bedroom, along with the laundry. The bathroom is small but perfectly fitted, with a powerful shower over the bath.

The kitchen/dining area, which has underfloor heating to complement the apartment's gas-fired central heating system, is fitted with every modern convenience, all of high standard: refrigerator, freezer, stove, ovens, microwave, extractor fan system, kettle, toaster, food mixer. And if you don't feel like cooking, there are bakeries and a wealth of restaurants literally round the corner.

Location description from owner

The England region

Well - this is London! Thought by many to be the greatest city in the world! And this apartment is situated right in the heart of it .

Local activities include shopping and restaurants, (a fantastic selection), London bus tours and river boats. There’s an excellent health food shop and a swimming pool and gym within five minutes’ walk( open to all), and you can jog through the backstreets up to St James’ Park (in front of Buckingham Palace) which then adjoins Green Park, or head south along the river for ten minutes to reach the wide open spaces of Battersea Park.

Victoria Mainline Station, just ten minutes’ walk from the house, has long been the stepping-off-point for Europe - and the magnificent Orient Express still leaves from there. During the two world wars, soldiers traveled from Victoria to the continent. The district then was full of small shops where tailors and seamstresses adapted uniforms to fit. Today, some of those shops remain – but now they’re haute-couture.

Central London/Zone 1

A ONE MINUTE WALK takes you to shops, medical centres, libraries, dentists, supermarkets, restaurants, gyms, swimming pools in a major sports centre, outdoor food-market, Pimlico Tube (underground) & 24-hour taxis, buses, car clubs, bike hire. In this wonderful, buzzing local 'village' you will find everything you need to live an ordinary London life. Yet WALK JUST FIVE MINUTES to Tate Britain and the River Thames, TEN MINUTES to Buckingham Palace,, Lambeth Palace (residence the Archbishop of Canterbury, Westminster Cathedral (the heart of the Catholic Church in London) and Victoria Mainline Station and Victoria Coach Station.
