Hi Lorna

We have just arrived back in Cornwall. Your apartment was delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We seem to have had a hectic time- we went to the opera at Covent Garden (wonderful), the PRB exhibition at the Tate Britain and saw a film at the most luxurious cinema we have ever been to, the Electric Cinema on the Portobello Road! And thankyou for the bottle of wine

Best regards

Mike

Lovely stay in your apartment

Dear Lorna,

We wanted to tell you it was a real privilege to stay in your well-appointed apartment! It was exactly 'us', from the lovely dining area to the bath, the artworks, the light! The kitchen was such fun - it had absolutely everything we needed - we may have used all your plates . Best regards Meg

“Perfect in every way!”

This flat was perfect for our 9 day trip to London! Location, decor, art and furnishings, books, and a delightful solarium fitted with antique dining furniture, this flat has it all! The flat is decorated with original art throughout. It is very cozy yet has distinct areas for dining, lounging with the TV and working on the computer. The solarium/dining room with outside garden was my favorite--we had breakfast there every morning at an antique dining table using Lorna's lovely bone china. There was a beautiful vase of fresh roses on the table when we arrived, plus a complementary bottle of wine. The location allowed us to access the Tube in a three minute walk around the corner. Down the other end of the block was Portobello Road, famous for its Saturday market and antique shops, which we spent hours at. Walking a few more blocks takes you to the lovely residential Notting Hill neighborhood. And of course, you can get just about anywhere in London on the tube and bus. The area around the flat is vibrant and young. There are amazing restaurants, galleries and shops plus you'll find fresh bread and vegetable vendors with stalls open on Portobello Road almost every day of the week. Also check out the gourmet specialty shops on Portobello--artisan cheeses, teas, etc.. We found several outstanding small restaurants in the immediate neighborhood. If you like Turkish food, check out Fez Mangal on Ladbroke--amazing flavors, delightful cafe ambiance, but get there early. For authentic Galician tapas, go to Galicia Restaurant on Portobello--almost everyone there speaks Spanish. Reservation recommended. Further down Portobello you will find Saporitalia with most patrons conversing in Italian and dining on wood fired pizza. On my next trip to London I will definitely book this flat if available. I cannot recommend it enough!
