The England region

London is the capital city of England and has a vast selection of modern and historical sites to suit all tastes and interests as well as a great variety of restaurants and theatres. The city is very culturally diverse and has attractions for all.

Central London/Zone 1

The Royal City of Westminster is in the true heart of London and the public transport links are excellent both within the city and to surrounding areas including 4 international airports within 50km. The transport links are all well integrated and there is an Oyster Card system that makes London local travel easier and more economic.

Some of the many famous sites for which London is famous can in fact be reached from this flat without the need for the use of public transport due to its central location!

Londons museums are mainly free to enter and two of the most famous the National Portrait gallery and the National Gallery are on the flats doorstep.

“Craven street”

Reviewed 28 Nov 2016

The apartment was fantastic, big and spacious. The lounge was bright and homely, the grandchildren loved the swivel chair and remote light switch. The master bedroom, I can't describe how big it was, and the bed was so big. I have no complaints about the apartment. Close to all amenities. Would recommend it to anyone .

“Fantastic apartment in great location”

Reviewed 13 Nov 2016

Visited many of big cities around the world but usually in hotels. This was the first time in private accommodation and the apartment was fantastic. There were six family members who stayed for 3 nights. The apartment is spacious and comfortable. The location is great with easy walking to all the sights and lots of choice for food. We would recommend this as a base for exploring London and a great alternative to hotels.

Many thanks for your kind review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at the Craven Street apartment and we look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Best wishes. Tansy

“Historic apartment with great character and excellent location”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2016

We spent 5 nights here as a 3 generation family of 4 adults and 2 children. We loved the location as we could walk to almost every attraction, saving lots of time and money. There were plenty of restaurants and grocery stores right outside our door. The beds were comfortable. Showers worked well with plenty of hot water. Has a very nice 6 burner gas stove for cooking. Only downside is no clothes dryer for your laundry. Also didn't have a freezer for ice. The house is very charming with great character. It is literally next door to Ben Franklin's house, so we loved the historic uniqueness of it. Neighborhood is safe and clean. Would stay here again

So glad you enjoyed your stay at Craven Street. We look forward to welcoming you again.

“Great Rental for Family”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2013

The location of this rental is absolutely perfect, on a quiet street b/w the Thames and Trafalgar Square. You are very close to many attractions, tube stations and train stations. Anything else you need is also nearby (Boots, grocers, restaurants, coffee). The flat itself is very spacious. The kitchen is well stocked and very useful, the sitting room is very comfortable and spacious. The bed in the master bedroom is huge and comfortable, and the bedroom itself is enormous. Both bathrooms are very nice. The owners have several books, etc that are helpful and a nice touch. They have a very organized folder w/helpful information. Pre- and post communication was very good. The only downside was there was one towel allotted per guest for the week. This would not have been a problem as there is a washing machine available, except.....there is no dryer and the towels are huge and very thick. After 24 hours hanging up, they were still very, very damp. Other than that, I highly recommend, and will definitely stay there again.

“Great apartment for a family stay in London”

Reviewed 13 Sep 2013

Our partridge was four adults and three children (10 and 6 year old twins) and the apartment worked very well for us. It is fully equipped, very comfortable ( a bit of noise from the pub next door but not a real issue). It is beautifully situated within easy walking distance of major sites and theatres.

“Just perfect”

Reviewed 5 Jun 2013

We had an absolutely wonderful time in this apartment. My husband and I were travelling with 3 older relatives, a teenager, and our 5 year old, and everyone was happy here. The location is simply perfect, just steps from Trafalgar Square. you can walk to many of the sights of Central London. We walked to Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, Westminster (Big Ben), Covent Garden/Transport Museum, the National Gallery, Piccadilly and Leicester Square. The Tower of London/Tower Bridge is an easy ride on the #15 bus. You can catch busses from Trafalgar and trains or tube from Charing Cross/Embankment to almost everywhere else (the top drawer in the living room is full of helpful maps and guides). For supplies in the area, at the top of the street there is a bike rental, a Boots chemist, and a Cooperative grocery. At the entrance to Charing Cross station (a block away) there is a Marks & Spencer Simply Food shop. The apartment is very spacious. We especially enjoyed being able to eat together (all 7 of us!) at the large dining table. The apartment is on two levels with a fairly steep stairway, so I would not recommend it for very small children (although our five year old was fine with it) or people with limited mobility. The two large bedrooms and both bathrooms are downstairs, and the small bunk bed room is separated from the main floor by a few steps as well. The street outside is very quiet except on the weekends when the pub next door (literally right outside the kitchen window) can be a little noisy... but it really didn't disturb us inside and you could hardly hear it downstairs in the bedrooms. The wifi was excellent and managed as many as five devices at once with no slowdown. The owner's rep (Tansy) was extremely helpful and responded immediately to all questions no matter how small. And the keyholding company was amazing: we phones them from Heathrow and he was waiting on his motorbike when we arrived! The only trouble we had was that all of us had difficulty figuring out the water taps in the showers. They are very "modern" and none of us were accustomed to the operation of them so it took us some trial and error to manage a satisfactory shower. Perhaps the owner will add a page of explanation in the greetings book for future travelers. We also could have used a few more towels (we were left exactly one each for a 9 day stay). Also, if you are planning to arrive by taxi, you should familiarize yourself with the directions first because not all taxi drivers are familiar with Craven Street and it is a bit tricky to get to (you actually must drive under a building). All in all, we had a great time and were sorry to leave. I hope we can stay here next time we are in London!

“unbelivable flat, great location”

Reviewed 19 Dec 2012

We travelled with our young children from Australia and just loved the apartment. We were able to walk to everywhere from tube stations, taxi stands, pubs, the london eye, etc, etc. It was just so central. The aparment was spacious and in very good condition. Communication with the owners was excellent and I highly recommend this apartment to anyone travelling to the UK. Thanks again we had a wonderful time.

“Lots of space, GREAT Location”

Stayed 6 days for holiday travel. Very roomy, comfortable rental in an excellent location. Great restaurants and pubs within a few meters of the front door. Would definitely stay here again. Good communication with owners.

“Amazing. Fantastic place to stay close to all amenities.”

Reviewed 8 Feb 2012

Very luxurious house in a fantastic location. Owners have thought about everything that makes your stay comfortable. Attention to detail immaculate. Best quality bedding, towels, kitchen equipment etc. Pub next door- great traditional English pub but closes at 11pm with very little noise. Street very quiet as no through traffic. Will be returning.

“Amazing Location”

Reviewed 27 Jan 2012

Perfect location at an affordable price. Easy walking distance to many attractions and sights including Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace, Theatres, Museums and Restaurants. Transport was an enlightening experience but extremely convenient with nearby Charing Cross and Embankment Stations. We loved our stay and hope to return next year. Thank you!!
