A truly remarkable property offering guests five bedrooms, roof terrace, large private garden, six bathrooms, 2 living areas, and two kitchens. Located in the desirable area of Hammersmith just a short walk from Ravenscourt Park Underground (District Line), the river, various pubs, shops and a theatre. The home is set in a leafy cul-de-sac.
The house itself is semi-detached Victorian home and offers guests nearly 4,500 square feet. The owners' truly inspired tastes ensure the property is brimming with natural light, bold colours and large open spaces.
The lower ground floor hosts a modern kitchen/family area designed in beautiful English Oak which runs to the very back of the property with a double height reception/dining space. Sliding glass doors allow guests access to a beautifully landscaped garden which includes a water feature and a versatile summer house.
The raised ground floor hosts a more formal living space and also a study area, both of which have been arranged to maximise the bright and airy nature of this incredible space.
Upstairs guests will find the first of the five bedrooms. The fabulous master which is a great size, light and airy like the rest of the property, decorated in Oak and also benefits from a remarkable en-suite bathroom which has been cleverly hidden behind a mirror. It does not stop there though, this bedroom boasts a large roof terrace with lovely views over the landscaped garden!
The next floors hosts a further two en-suite bedrooms, the children's room which has a custom built bunk bed which is a single on the bottom and a good sized double on top.
In addition, there is a second self-contained property set over three floors with substantial studio/reception space and another roof terrace! There are a further two well sized en-suite bedrooms here and a second kitchen. This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy one of London's most unique homes. It is a perfect choice for a large family or even two separate family units.
Benefiting from multiple living and cooking areas, everyone is sure to feel at home in this magnificently refurbished Victorian property. For the warmer summer months there is ample outside space to enjoy with some stunning views.
Hammersmith, a distinctive suburb located in West London, is the perfect place to stay. The area is brimming with the activity and opportunity typical of London, yet retains a certain village charm... and down on the banks of the River you almost feel miles from the city! Timelessly elegant Georgian architecture complements Hammersmith's and Chiswick's beautiful stretch of Thames riverbank. Bars, restaurants and pavement cafes have sprung up all along the tow path including the famous 'River Cafe'. Several supermarkets and an ever-expanding range of delis, boutiques and niche suppliers mean residents rarely need to go elsewhere.
Ravenscourt Avenue is a cul-de-sac sitting on the edge Ravenscourt Park with immediate direct access to the park. The house is just a 2 minute walk from Ravenscourt Park station on the District line which will take you to the Museums of South Kensington in 10 minutes. You may change at Earl's Court for the Piccadilly line, or walk to the Hammersmith station (which serves the Piccadilly, District, and Hammersmith and City lines) in around 10 minutes. From here Knightsbridge, South Kensington, Sloane Square and Chelsea can be reached within 10 minutes, the centre of London (Green Park/Piccadilly Circus/Leicester Square) within 15-20 minutes.
Alternatively, take a river boat from the nearby pier to Kew Bridge or Hampton Court Palace (to the West) or to the London Eye or Tate Modern (to the East)!

The London region
On the Thames in West London, Hammersmith is a beautiful area, with a countryside feel. It is perfect for many of London's wealthy families. There is a choice of riverside eateries to explore, including The Dove pub, which was frequented by Ernest Hemingway and Graham Greene or The Crabtree which has a terrace overlooking the Thames and is popular in the summer months with people enjoying a Pimm's and the splendid views.
There are many other restaurants in the area, as well as boutique shops and cafes, or head to the Farmer's Market at Lyric Square on a Thursday for fresh products. The area is rich in cultural attractions, with four theatres: the Riverside Studios, the Bush Theatre, Curtains Up at the Baron's Theatre and finally the Lyric Hammersmith, which is considered one of the most notable theatres outside the West End. It is also home to the Hammersmith Apollo, which plays host to major concerts and stand up comedy acts.
The William Morris Society at Kelmscott House is one to visit, as is the Westfield Shopping Centre in nearby Shepherd's Bush, with hundreds of shops and restaurants. For the children, the London Wetland Centre will bring splashes and laughter, or nearby neighbourhood Barnes, just over the river, is very picturesque. There are a number of exceptional 18th and 19th century buildings in and around its historic village, and the area boasts a rock and roll history with the former Olympic Studios on Church Road playing host to many of rock and pop's greatest stars throughout the decades: from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, right through to modern day Coldplay and Madonna.
