In this fantastic Victorian home in Chiswick, the walls are alive with vibrant art in a charismatic family home.
As you step inside, you'll notice the high ceilings and classic wooden floors. The back of the house is one large open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room which opens out to the garden. The contemporary and stylish kitchen has a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave and lots of workspace. The wooden dining table comfortably seats 10 and sits opposite the feature fireplace. This extends through to the living area with its inviting purple corner couch and furry bean bag chair and leather chair. These face the large plasma TV and interesting art on the walls. Back-dropped by the double French doors, this area opens onto decking with an outdoor dining table which can be shaded by the extendable canopy. The decking runs to a grassed area, cloaked by trees and with a super trampoline for the kids.
On the first floor, you'll not fail to be impressed by the master bedroom - it's large, to say the least, sumptuous, bright and chic with an open plan en suite bathroom. There is a chandelier feature light, a king sized bed and deep brown hardwood floors. A plasma TV, two dressers and a desk/vanity by the large bay window allow lots of space for family and friends to unpack and unwind. There is also a charming small balcony through french doors just beside the bed. The en suite features a roll top bath, vanity sink, WC, rain/power shower and built-in wardrobe space with a large window and plenty of mirrors for dressing.
The second bedroom has white wooden floorboards, a built-in wardrobe, single bed and desk which sits under the large window, overlooking the garden and the park behind. Decorated with pop art and stacked with books, this room will suit a sassy child or adult alike. The second bathroom sits across the hall from this bedroom and is delightfully inviting with a bath (and shower connection), WC, heated towel rail and a cheery, nautical theme.
Up one floor and you'll find the third bedroom with a double bed, side table, wardrobe unit and a desk and chair below a large window. The third bathroom is modern and practical with a power shower, WC, basin, mirror and heated towel rail. This bathroom is shared with the fourth bedroom which sits at the top of the house. The fourth bedroom has a (large) single bed a further single bed with a second pull-out single bed underneath. With 2 tvs, the latest games consoles (Wii, PS2, PS3 and X-box), a dresser, a desk and an enormous amount of board games, this room is a perfect hideaway for kids of all ages and, depending on the size of your party, can simply be left as the games room.
In the basement, there's a handy extra WC and utility room with washing machine and dryer and extra freezer.
The house backs onto a park and is a few minutes' walk to the river, making it a perfect spot for getting some fresh air and exercise close to home. A couple of streets away, on Chiswick High Road, you'll find shops, cafes, bars and restaurants (including a couple of award-winning restaurants and the trendy High Road House club). In the opposite direction, a rowing club sits down on the Thames with some of Chiswick's most famous river pubs.
The closest Underground station is Stamford Brook (on the District Line) which is about a 5 minute walk. Hammersmith station is about 15 minute walk away and is on both the District and Piccadilly lines. From Stamford Brook, you're just 4 stops away from Kensington and 5 stops will take you to Knightsbridge - no more than 15 minutes on the tube. Within 20 minutes, you'll reach Piccadilly and Soho. It's very handy for travellers coming from Heathrow, with good connections on the Piccadilly line.
This is a delightfully cheery, bright and comfortable home suited for families or friends and grown-ups alike. The area is extremely desirable with its proximity to the river and local cafes, restaurants and riverside attractions as well as its proximity and connections to London's main tourist attractions.
