Charming elegant and characterful 3-bedroom apartment in a beautiful, quiet and secure period building right in the centre of London, only 200 yards from Oxford Street and Soho. Only 30 yards from Charlotte Street, with its plethora of brilliant and varied restaurants, bars and pubs. Fully equipped eat-in kitchen, comfortable lounge with coal-effect gas fire. Access to a communal roof terrace with quality furniture for sunbathing and dining. The property has been our pied a terre for 16 years and was recently refurbished. It is located on the third floor, with lift access from the first floor approached by approximately 20 steps. We also own two other apartments (each sleeps 4) in the same building, also available to rent (details on request).
Facilities include: WiFi broadband, 50' Panasonic plasma 3D HDTV, Blu-Ray/DVD player, iPod speakers, DAB radio, Bosch washer-dryer, Bosch dishwasher, cooker and microwave, large fridge-freezer, bath with overhead shower, books and films galore, baby cot and high chair available.
With regard to your stay, we try to think of everything: Brita water filters, because London’s water is recycled and has, apparently, passed through 8 people before it reaches you (and we don’t quite know which 8 people); feather and down duvets and pillows, because they’re the softest and the nicest (yet man-made available for allergy-sufferers); feather and down mattress toppers, to make comfy beds just … even more comfy; we do not use energy-saving lightbulbs or even LED, just warm tungsten and halogen, because it’s so much warmer and more natural; there is entertainment in the form of books and DVDs/Blu-rays scattered around, that have been thought about (England/London-focussed); ornaments and pictures create an atmosphere, so all these have been considered, to help settle, amuse, enlighten and enhance your stay; no supermarket ‘basic’ or ‘essential’ items are supplied, but just what works best (like Andrex); towels are 100% cotton and plump; bedding is 100% cotton and mostly from John Lewis (you’d be stretched to find a man-made fibre in the apartment); floors are real wood or real wood laminate; there are always rugs; there is always plentiful hot water; heating is always efficient; kitchen equipment is extensive; cutlery and crockery is elegant; and there is nothing that might aesthetically offend.
Our intention is to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible; and memorable, too. There are cheaper apartments around, but none where you will feel more at home, surrounded by top-quality furnishings, every appliance and a thousand personal touches. This is 5-star self-catering accommodation.
The owner is a British and Hollywood film producer. The property has been the home of many celebrities, including actor Sir David Jason OBE and BBC TV presenter Kirsty Wark. Best-selling books and award-winning film scores have been scribed here.
The apartment is a 2-minute walk to Goodge Street tube/metro/underground station and 3 minutes to both Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Circus stations.
However, London is best explored on foot, providing of course that you're starting from the right location, and there is no better vantage point than this apartment. Here are the walking distances to places you might like to visit during your stay (in minutes, on foot):
Oxford Street (2)
Regent Street (6)
Covent Garden (8)
British Museum (9)
Harley Street (9)
National Gallery (10)
Leicester Square (10)
Bond Street (10)
Theatre District/Shaftesbury Avenue (10)
Regents Park (10)
National Portrait Gallery (10)
Trafalgar Square (13)
British Library (16)
Madame Tussauds (17)
Hyde Park (17)
Downing Street (18)
Big Ben (21)
Buckingham Palace (22)
Westminster Abbey (22)
London Eye (23)
London Zoo (26)
St Pauls Cathedral (29)
The Royal Albert Hall (37)
Natural History Museum (41)
Tower of London (46)
There inevitably may exist accommodation that is cheaper, yet further afield, but when you add-in taxi/bus/underground charges to and fro, such alternatives can prove a false economy.

OUR RENTAL GUESTS' COMMENTS:
We had a fantastic time in London and at Lancaster Court, and it definitely won´t be the last time that we stay there, if I have any say in the matter! For one thing: the location is perfect! Very central with plenty of good shops, pubs and restaurants close by. Easy access to public transport - both buses and the tube. We were met by Mark, who could not have been more friendly or helpful. Had even bought a pint of milk for us, so we could have a cup of tea! Flat was very clean and tidy, beds were good, with lovely linen and excellent duvet and pillows. Was impressed with DVD selection and also a nice selection of books. We liked the fact that tea, coffee, washing up liquid and the like were available on the understanding that you fill up as needed. It's a great idea! The flat really felt like a proper home, and not a standard rental flat. Easy to feel comfortable and at home there. Rie Carlsen
Thanks so much for everything that helped make our stay at Lancaster Court one of the most pleasant we have ever had in the UK. From the Christmas Tree to the many thoughtful features. The apartment continually surprised us. Plainly you know what travellers need. I could not have been happier. And meeting Paul was a real pleasure. So thanks. We would love to come back. Richard Harman, NZ
Our stay in your home was simply perfect ! The welcome so kind and complete at our arrival, ideal facilities, so comfortable, admirable pieces of furniture and class in each detail. It will be our choice for our futures stays in London, for sure. Jean-Luc, Isabelle, Mathilde et Martin Reider
We had a great stay in London, and we very much enjoyed the apartment. It was very cozy and convenient, it had everything we needed and Paul was very nice - it was nice to know that someone was close by should there be a problem. The location was perfect for us. I will definitely recommend Lancaster Court to others looking to rent a flat in London. Sigrun Espe
Just to let you know that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lancaster Court, the location was excellent and the apartment was a perfect base. It had more equipment than I have at home. Paul greeted us and gave an excellent explanation of everything we needed to know. My sons were very happy to have wifi available. It was like a home from home. Erika Gittins
Thank you very much for letting us stay in your lovely house at Lancaster Court! Everything was perfect and we had lovely time in London. We enjoyed the high standard in the house - everything, from bedding sheets, plates, cutlery, towels etc was of high quality. The books in many languages and DVD's in the library, the furniture, the kitchen, the different bedrooms, the whole style in the house. You have kept the old character and charm of the house, combined with modern facilities, everything was beautiful! We will absolutely return to Lancaster Court in our future visits in London - this is a promise! Vessela Lakselvhaug and family
We all had a lovely time at Lancaster Court! Your apartment was amazing: the best I've seen. We had all we needed. The location was perfect! Paul was very helpful as well. Jennifer Shauger
We had a really nice weekend. Your apartment is splendid in every single way. Loved the furniture, the well-equipped kitchen, the large TV, London brochures. We were well received by Mark and I could communicate with him easily by phone or sms (he brought us tablets for the dishwasher on demand!). I hope to book this apartment again when I am going to London and I will recommend it to friends and relatives. Anne-Marie van het Erve

Thank you so much for the perfect Christmas stay. The whole family loved it, from its cozy feel to the perfect location to everything in London. Amerio Family
We came down to London last year, but wanted to stay in a more central location this time. I have to say that the apartment was fantastic! It had everything we needed and the well-equipped kitchen and DVD collection were the icing on the cake! The best thing was that it was quiet, considering its proximity to Oxford Street and also lovely and warm. We loved the fact that it was a family home and felt welcoming. Paul was great and had everything spotless for our arrival. Julie Tarn
Your apartment was lovely and so close to all the things we wanted to do. Maria Dell
The flat far exceeded our expectations. It was clean and comfortable and the location is great. We enjoyed looking at what you had on the walls and your furniture was also fascinating to us. Thanks again, and there is no question we will be back. Al Hemond
We were 6 people and a baby, so this flat was so suitable for our large family. We were especially happy about the kitchen equipment, because I'm preparing food for my 10-month-old baby. We also love the flat's decoration, and the beds were so comfy. The guy who met us was so kind, called David. The flat's location is excellent, right next to Oxford Street. Behind the flat there are many shops, so whenever we needed something it was easily obtained. If we have a chance to go to London again, I'd choose this flat again without any hesitation. Emil Dvorjak
wanted to say we had a fabulous time in London and the apartment didn't disappoint: it was immaculate and in an ideal location. I've never stayed anywhere as well kitted out, so congratulations; you have thought of everything. If we decide to return to London in the future, we will definitely be in touch. Lisa ONeill
We enjoyed such a good time at your apartment. Everything was perfect for the large family. Gülçin

We've already recommended it to our friends and will surely return ourselves. Our kids already call it “our London home”! Minna Saario & Family
Our stay was perfect: really good time we spent in London. Many thanks for your hospitality. Lubos Gajdos
We have just arrived back from our trip and Lancaster Court, which was the very best!!!! We found ourselves as if we were at home; we enjoyed your movies, as it is our hobby as well; breakfasts and dinners in the comfortable kitchen. Everything was exactly as we expected. It is a charming and cozy apartment, especially for us, a family of six with grown up girls and boys, as everything was around the corner! We will choose Lancaster Court on our next visit to London. Andres Cripovich
We had a really wonderful time at Lancaster Court - it was absolutely perfect. Natalie
We enjoyed the apartment some days during this summer and it has been really extraordinary: an excellent situation and very well cared for, welcoming, and extensive flat. The housekeepers were very attentive and efficient. An excellent option to live and explore the city center; ideal to go with children and without children. Maria Cazares
Just a note to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at Lancaster Court. It was a comfortable, well-located home away from home. The whole booking and check-in process went very smoothly. The Roden Family
We had a great stay at Lancaster Court. It was everything we wanted from our brief visit to London. David was very helpful and pleasant. We had a great idea and decided to book a delivery online at Sainsbury's for our groceries. This came promptly, so could be something you could write in your description. It was helpful as we came down by train. Your apartment has a very "lived in" feel about it. It was nice to be surrounded by someone else's treasures. Everything worked perfectly and we had the added reassurance that David was just a phone call away. We came back late from the theatre on the first night but felt really safe walking from the tube station and in and around the apartment building. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending your apartment to friends and family. Liz Kite
We stayed for three nights in late June and could not have been happier with our choice. Impeccably clean and well-maintained with everything we could hope for during our stay. Beautifully decorated inside. Quiet neighborhood but within walking distance of a huge assortment of restaurants and food stores. Near your choice of public transport options but easily walkable to Soho, Trafalgar, Piccadilly ... will definitely return next time we are in London. Thank you, Jonathan and family, for sharing your lovely home! Jacky Reding
We very much enjoyed our stay at Lancaster Court and have been recommending it to our friends and family. Tracey
We had a great time being in London and staying at Lancaster Court. We will definitely consider staying there again at a later visit. Espen
We all loved this apartment! Our 3 teens had plenty of space to relax and find their own quiet space. The location is excellent for all our activities, from sightseeing to restaurants and grocery shopping for breakfasts and late-night snacks at "home." The apartment was just what we expected from the description: clean, plenty of lighting, working appliances, plenty of hot water, and easy to use TV and wifi. David was very accommodating and friendly, making us feel very welcome and right at home. It was great to have a washer/drier combo. We definitely recommend this apartment and would rent again if we come back to London; it was so much better than being in a hotel ... it was home away from home. The apartment is close to several tube stations, but the best way to experience London is to walk. We discovered many interesting sights and people on our outings. Kate Harmon
We've spent the whole day traveling up to Scotland and I want to tell you that your London flat is paradise! I loved it the moment we arrived and only wished I could stay longer. Will definitely return again and will recommend it to my friends. Jackie
Thank you! We all had a fabulous time in the flat, which was perfect for us. The location, amenities, everything was spot-on, and helped us feel like true Londoners. Robert Vinson
Our stay in Lancaster court was excellent and the apartment was very cosy and even better than our expectations . Location and all the services around: tube stations, Tesco, near Oxford St. London was in its best! Sunny days and no rain. We even saw Mr & Mrs Obama at Buckingham Palace by accident! I'm glad to recommend Lancaster Court to everyone! Ulla Ryöppönen
We had a fantastic time in London and we were very impressed with the standard of Lancaster Court. It was beautifully decorated, in a great location and all your thoughtful touches were appreciated by us all. We will definitely be back! Sarah Darlington
We had a wonderful stay at your apartment! It was so much cozier than a hotel; had a very nice feeling to it. The girls were amazed over your DVD collection! It has been a pleasure to rent your flat in London; the ease with the payments and the return of the deposit couldn't have gone smoother. Dagmar Sullivan
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lancaster Court - a lovely apartment with lots of character, but with all mod cons! Great situation with easy access to restaurant and theatres. We would certainly consider a return visit. Will also recommend to friends visiting London. Kathleen Wilson (+ 2 daughters, sister and 2 nieces!)
We had a wonderful time. The flat is fabulous. The boys were particularly impressed with the DVD collection. We will return in the future. Jeremy Campbell-Cairns
Many thanks for a top quality stay in London. All 6 guests staying in the flat were very satisfied with the accommodation; location and the high quality of the flat itself. It could not have been better. Emelie Augustsson Just arrived home. Many thanks for a most enjoyable stay at Lancaster Court. It was a great location and home from home. We would definitely contact you again next time we plan a trip to London. David Morrant

"Lovely flat, very comfy, well equipped and central"
This third floor flat (with lift) in a quiet building and street is brilliant. It had great ambience, was comfy and warm in December, with an excellently set up kitchen. The location couldn't be better, just off Oxford Street/Tottnham Court Road, with Soho restaurants just round the corner, and three tube stations within 5 to 10 minutes walk. Owner Jonathan and houskeeper Paul were very pleasant and efficient. For cooking/eating in, small Sainsburys Local store is very handy round the corner in Mortimer Street. Tesco Metro five minutes walk away at the Tottenham Court Road end of Goodge Street has a bigger/better choice. We'd love to stay here again!

"Fantastic Place to Stay in Central London"
What a beautiful flat! The owners are so accommodating. They answered all my questions and the flat was even ready with fresh flowers when we arrived. Our family of five was very comfortable. Goodge St. tube is a short walk, as are many lovely restaurants. We easily walked from Piccadilly back to the flat via Soho--the kids loved it! There is construction going on nearby at the moment, with some loud noises during the night due to that--but it did not mar our stay at all. Would go back again in a heartbeat!

"Fantastic apartment in great location!"
This apartment felt like a home from home. Very well equipped, excellent if you are travelling with children. The location is great, just behind Charlotte Street with a lot of restaurants, a 5 minute walk to Soho.

"Perfect stay in London!"
Nice apartment, cosy yet spacious. Plenty of room for the family to have privacy and together time. Close to Oxford- a short walk and you are there to shop! Lovely restaurants nearby and close to all the major tourist sites. We didn't use the tube but there is a station very close by,. London taxis are great and we used them to get to where we wanted. The owner is always available to answer any questions and there is always someone available if you need anything. The flat is nicely decorated and has a kitchen well equipped with everything for a short or longer stay. Would not hesitate to recommend this lovely flat to friends when they want a nice place to call home while in London.

"Impeccable service, perfectly central, as cosy & comfy as you could wish - a real home from home."
This ideal apartment is all you could wish for. We stayed 4 days, and wished it could've been longer. Very efficient booking, charming meet and greet, beautifully furnished with great care and attention to detail, and countless personal touches. Totally clean, gorgeously comfortable and right in the middle of everything. I'll stay here every time I come to London. There are cheaper places, but no better value-for-money. Peter.
