Location description from owner

The Algarve region

Lagos was an important Roman settlement called 'Lacobriga' and a variety of ancient Roman ruins remain including the old slave market.
The town is located on the edge of a superb bay and has five different beaches all within walking distance of the town centre, which is enclosed within 5th century walls.

A modern and well equipped marina dominates the sea front and the town is now firmly positioned as a centre for tourists from all over the world.

For historians, there are some lovely churches to be explored, such as 'Sao Sebastiao' (featuring 17th-18th century tiling) and the Sao Joao Hermitage (8th-9th century) as well as a regional museum and the old Governors' Palace.

Central Lagos

“Lived up to its promise”

Reviewed 21 Feb 2016

The apartment is very tastefully decorated with both a contemporary & comfortable feel - it is also very well equipped. The location is great - close to the bus station, the marina and within short walking distance to the centre. The booking & local management all went very smoothly . This was my first trip to lovely Lagos and this lovely apt and I would definitely return both.

I really enjoyed my stay. The app was presented excellently. We were met by a very nice lady who ran through all that needed to know and if we needed anything she was only a phone call away. The town was very accesssable from the app. The kids had a ball by the pool and and the playground. The kids are at an age that if they didn't want to leave the pool I could go up to the app and sit on the balcony and have a clear view of the kids. I would highly recommend this app to stay in.

“Lovely apartment, great town!”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2015

This apartment was really lovely. The location was fantastic, and the apartment itself was top notch. Michaela and Sandra were both lovely, helpful and very reasonable. Lagos is a gorgeous town with amazing beaches, loads of water-sports and local trips. We travelled with our two girls (aged 7 and 8). They were initially a little disappointed by the size of the pools, but we had great fun in them anyway. The gym is very basic and not air-conditioned, but it was great to have!

“Great location for Lagos town and comfortable accommodation”

Reviewed 1 Jun 2015

Only 5 minutes walk to the marina but far enough out to be outside controlled parking area. No problem parking right outside the apartment block. Apartment clean and comfortable with good facilities.

“Modern, fresh, central, great to deal with”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2015

Right from the start, the owner of the apartment was fantastic to deal with. We were met by a local lady with the keys, and she gave us lots of good advice, including to try the Sangria Blanca...yum! It's a easy walk to the marina, to the beaches, and to the old town centre. We ate mostly in the old town in the lanes, finding the marina too much like anywhere else. Spent a day at Salema praia (easy drive from Lagos), and had a beautiful, fresh lunch at the Restaurante Atlantico. The apartment is modern, spacious, well maintained, and has everything you need (could do with a better cork screw ;). I'd go back!

“Quality apartment”

Reviewed 10 Dec 2014

Very well-appointed apt with extremely comfortable double bed. Prompt responses from owner with friendly and helpful assistance from Sandra in the resort ( she sorted our parking ticket out for us). Had slight unease over big security deposit but this is a top spec apt and it was returned promptly. Whirlpool bath was v welcome after the day's hiking!

“Lovely Apartment in great location”

Just back from a great week in this apartment. The location is great, it's close to the marina, the old town and has a supermarket around the corner. We used both the indoor and outdoor pool as well which were great The apartment had everything we needed and is fitted out to a very high standard.

“"Great stay"”

Reviewed 5 Aug 2014

Just back from two great weeks in Lagos . I booked this apartment based on previous reviews and how right they were. Location is perfect 10 min walk to old town and the marina , 15 min walk to the main beach . Supermarket just behind the apartments . The apartment itself is perfect , modern and spacious with everything you could want and the free wifi was a big hit with our kids . Michaela and Sandra were great to deal with from start to finish a bottle of wine in the fridge on arrival was a nice touch . and my deposit was returned before I arrived home!! Would highly recommend .

“The perfect apartment in Lagos”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2014

This apartment was like a home away from home. It was a very large two bedroom, two bathroom apartment with a large balcony. It was nicely furnished and had everything you needed to enjoy your stay. The amenities were excellent in the apartment and in the complex. There were two pools - one indoor and one outside, and a fitness centre. It was well located - a five minute walk to the centre of town but in a quiet area. Parking is free and easy to access. We were referred by friends and would highly recommend it to anyone. Lagos is an ideal place to stay in the Algarve with beautiful sandy beaches and gorgeous grottos.

“Fantastic holiday experience!”

Reviewed 6 Mar 2014

Lagos was a wonderful place to visit...great for walking, visiting the 'old town', enjoying restaurants, and going sight-seeing to nearby towns using public transportation. This apartment is situated in an ideal location to enjoy everything the area offers. It is very close to the bus station, where there is an amazing market on Saturday mornings. We especially valued the professionalism and helpfulness of Michaela and Sandra. Besides the great location, the apartment is very clean, secure, and comfortable, including the beds. It really was a wonderful place to spend our holidays, we' always treasure our memories. Thank you very kindly,
