“Lovely relaxing holiday”
The apartment was everything you'd want, a real home from home. It was clean and spacious. Five of us went and there was plenty of room. Beautifully decorated. The view from the balcony isn't great but full of character and everything is in walking distance, the town and marina with great restaurants and shops and market stalls. The beach is just beyond the marina and is beautiful. The patio area downstairs is a real sun trap, there is no shade there though but early morning and late afternoon sunbathing was nice. The pool isn't for swimming really more to cool off, it's ok for families with children as it is all one level. Sue and Ian are lovely and also their agents, we had Sonya meet us and was on hand throughout our stay for any questions we had. We used Algarve Sun Transfers to pick us up from the airport and to the apartment they were very efficient and helpful too. All in all I would recommend the apartment and Lagos as a great place to stay
“Wonderful apartment in a convenient location”
My wife and I and our two teenage children stayed in this fantastic apartment for a week at the height of the July heat in the Algarve. When we first arrived at the flat and entered the apartment for the first time we were all agog at just how fantastic a place it was. Three large bedrooms, all with more than adequate storage, two well appointed bathrooms, a huge dining and sitting room, large kitchen with loads of storage and first class appliances. There was a large balcony spanning the kitchen and sitting room and another smaller balcony private to the master bedroom. Electric shutters on all the windows to keep out the heat, quiet air conditioning units in all the rooms, TV with all the popular British channels included, music system... the list goes on. All in all it was the best accommodation we have ever rented on holiday and we go back there in a minute should we decide to return to the Algarve for another holiday. Can't recommend it enough. And to top it off Sue was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish.
“Very nice Apartment, spacious and clean”
All my friends and I had an amazing time in Lagos, we were very thrilled with our choice of where to stay. We were greeted by a very lovely lady named Sandra, she was so welcoming friendly and went above and beyond to show us around the apartment it was a great introduction to Lagos. The apartment was very spacious clean and had everything we need. Location was very good also, it was not right in the very centre, but not far at all to walk. It had everything located within a few minutes walk. Shops, restaurant's etc. The pool area was also very clean and lovely too, the apartment complex was quiet so we had no issue with noise It had two very nice balconies, the apartment over all was great, modern and what we were after.
“A delightful apartment offering everything we needed for a comfortable relaxing holiday.”
The apartment is exactly as advertised and is very spacious and well thought out. We enjoyed privacy and comfort and had an enjoyable relaxing holiday. In the past we have stayed in hotels both all inclusive and B&B thinking self catering would be a bore but we found the freedom of being able to come & go & eat either in or out was much more relaxing especially as we had loads more space than a hotel room would offer. We enjoyed using the pool which never got over crowded and getting a sunbed was not a problem. The resort Lagos is a very lively town and the Marina is a great place to sit and watch the boats over a meal or drink. Most of the restaurants and bars are reasonably priced, serving lots of seafood and cocktails. The apartment is approx 5 minutes walk from the Marina and 15 minutes from the town. We all felt very safe walking about at night, also during the day we were not hassled by traders or buskers. The waterfront offers boat trips to see the grottoes and dolphins, some more reasonable priced than others so you need to shop about. We also took the train to Silves which is a very old town with loads of character, but be warned the trains stop in the afternoon for about 3 hours so you need to plan your day. Zoo Marina was an organised trip we took and we had a long day at the park which was good value for money with the dolphin display the best show. All in all we had a great holiday and would like to have stayed longer.
“Modern, spacious and great location!”
The apartment is superbly decorated, modern comfortable and spacious so we all had our own space . It was home from home with the sunshine! A fully equipped kitchen allows you to cook whatever you want but In all honesty you are never stuck for choice of excellent food in Lagos restaurants! My mum was with me this time so the central location suited well. The lady who met us Sandra was most helpful coming back the 2nd day to check that we were ok. Thanks for a fab 6 day break in your excellent apartment.
“Perfect Portugal, Perfect Apartment”
Booking the apartment was easy and Ian/Sue kept us informed when necessary without bombarding us with unnecessary emails. They were also very quick to answer any questions we had about the apartment, the complex, car hire or anything we needed. On arrival we were met by Sandra who showed us all we needed to know about the apartment and the complex. they were always on hand if there was anything we needed but the apartments are so good we just didn't. The apartment itself is spacious, clean, well equipped and nicely decorated with music and vacuum cleaner piped through the walls. The metal shutters ensured the apartment stayed cool throughout the day with only a small blast of air-con required before bed to ensure a great nights sleep even when we had registered 39C during the day. There were some basic essentials in the kitchen to get us by and plenty of information on things to do in the area. The outdoor pool is cold until mid afternoon but the indoor pool is heated (although was a bit too much in the way of chlorine) and the jacuzzi is bubbly heaven. The view from the apartment is an old derelict convent, but in amongst all the more modern buildings I found myself becoming more intrigued with the building, it's architecture, history and from the first night I loved the view and still did at the end. If, as planned, the convent is converted into a restaurant, this would compliment the clean and friendly Cafe Fresco (where WiFi is available). The only negative about the complex is that the sauna cannot be used by guests due to repair bills incurred through previous guests using pool water on the sauna rocks which led to a large bill for the owners. This was our first time in Lagos, but not our first visit to Portugal. We like the west of the Algarve due to the smaller towns and harbours and although Lagos is bigger than the previous places we have been to, it is not too touristy. The town is fairly quiet during the day, but comes alive at night with street entertainers aplenty. There are a large number of restaurants in the area and all the ones we visited were pleasant, with good food at reasonable prices. Average cost to feed five of us bread/butter, main meal and couple of drinks was about 80 Euros. If you like steak the best we had was at Don Torro, which was a bit more expensive but worth the cost for a melt in the mouth steak. There were others of note but one definitely worth a visit is Millenium Jardin, a two minute walk off the main square. Whilst in the Algarve there is plenty to do but I would recommend kayaking (we used Days of Adventure) round the coves of the coastline (better than the boat trips which seemed to nip in a cove, turn round and leave before anyone had a chance to take them in) and the Portitours Jeep Safari, which is like an all day roller coaster mixed in with history and culture. All in all this was quite simply the best holiday we have had. Thanks to Sue/Ian for the apartments and to Claudia and Sandra for all their, albeit minimal, help.
“Great place to stay”
The apartment was perfect, spotlessly clean, excellently equipped (not that we ate in once with so much choice of amazing eateries), great pool, jacuzzi, sauna and just really well thought out. The management company were also excellent and the people from the cafe downstairs were really helpful and friendly. All in all it was a fantastic few days (we were all sad to leave).
This was our second visit to this apartment having visited last year with family (6 adults) this time there were just 3 adults. We loved Lagos and what made it for us was the location of the apartment only 5 mins to the Marina and a 10 mins stroll into town (much quicker if you are not walking into every shop that you pass!!) The apartment has everything you wish for, it is a luxury apartment and the two pools and jaquzzi are wonderful. There is a gym but I will be honest I didn’t try it out. There is a gorgeous little bistro at the bottom of the apartments, the food and service there was also great. I can not recommend it highly enough. If you have a hire car – The Water Park is well worth visiting
What a totally wonderful place! The apartment is so lovely, clean, well equipped and in the words of our 10yr old "totally amazing! couldn't have asked for better. Really liked the jacuzzi, pools (indoor pool fab when it gets cold outside), beaches and evenings spent in the squares of the old town watching the entertainers..oh and the fact that I could get wi-fi downstairs in Cafe Fresco!." Our 6yr old just says.. "when are we going back?" Definitely a place that can offer something for everyone, all year round. Food lovely (particularly the fresh fish), no need for car but if you do hire one there's plenty more to see within easy driving distance. The beaches are a short 10 minute walk from the apartment and are fantastic with the choice of the never-ending Meia Praia to the East of the Marina, or the smaller sandy coves of Praia Batata and Praia L'etudents to the West just below the Old Town. All the beaches are great for kids with shallow water (particularly at low tide) and gentle sloping sandy entry to the sea, with snorkling around the rocks off Praia L'etudents. The apartment had all mod cons including jacuzzi bath in the master en-suite, the ability to pipe music in to every room from the central hi fi system, Freesat digital TV, dvd player and the most amazing hoover built in to the walls!!! and everything you could need in the kitchen, even a dishwasher! but the local food is superb and reasonably priced, so no need for much cooking (says Mum!). Lovely welcome pack on arrival - thank you so much - really meant we could relax straight in to our holiday without having to venture out to the supermarket as soon as we arrived. Worth every penny. Vino Verdi (green wine) from the local supermarket cheaper for 3 bottles than one glass at our local pub in Surrey! Good range of restaurants offering everything from local Portuguese cuisine, fresh fish from the fish market to Italian, Indian, Chinese, Tapas and steak. Better value for money if you keep away from the main street through the Old Town. All in all, a great apartment, friendly town with good beaches, and something for everyone. Just what it says on the tin.
“modern stylish apartment near to beautiful beaches”
the apartment was comfortable, well equipped and stylish and we even enjoyed cleaning with the built in vacuum system! easy to park and walk into the town centre and the weather was sunny every day. Cannot think of any problems the local staff were friendly an helpful we enjoyed the beautiful local beaches and went to the castle at Silves, walked around Monchique and Sagres which was very atmospheric and windy! it was ideally positioned as we did not have to drive more than 40 mins to reach them.
