From the owner

This family holiday home has been modernised while keeping the character of the house. It has many facilities to enhance a happy, comfortable stay with something for everyone. The ground floor has all the facilities needed for the older less mobile members of the family without the need to go upstairs. The lounge has comfortable reclinning leather chairs & suite where you can relax or just watch the clear screen & sound of the 3D TV. There are books, dvds & cds supplied. The ground floor bedroom is spacious and quiet The shower room/toilet has grab rails & non slip flooring.

The bedrooms upstairs are bright & spacious & either look towards the castle or the ridge that encircles Hastings. The log cabin in the garden has snooker/pool table with table football and magnetic darts.New for 2018 is an extended covered patio area. Although on a main road the garden is secluded & little noise from the traffic.The garden has a gas BBQ. The lawn is astro turf & the flower garden has various colourful plants

We have solar water heating to take advantage of the sun with backup from gas for provision of both hot water & heating. When there is a party of 8 there is no rushing for showers as there are 2 shower rooms and a shower over the bath in the bathroom with a seperate toilet upstairs. The house is very versitile & everyone can join together or do there own thing. You can choose how much you do or how little. We find it is a great place for families to meet together, when they live in different parts of the country. Pets are not left out, as they are members of the family too.
The owners live next door and are on hand to help with any problems or give advice. We have a welcome folder with information to answer the most commonly asked questions. There are handbooks for the National Trust & English Heritage as well as literature featuring other attractions, to give you ideas on where to go if you haven't decided already. The owners grow different fruits & vegetables & visitors to the house can share the produce of the season.

Although Mount Pleasant House is situated on a main road, little traffic noise can be heard in the garden and people are amazed that they can sit peacefully & either relax or use the games room which has proved to be very popular. The astroturf lawn is easy to keep clean for visitors who bring pets with them.
We are lucky to have many green spaces in the surrounding area. There are St Helens Woods about 10 mins walk to the back of the house. On the way, you can stop at The BOS a popular playing field, which is an enclosed space where dogs can run free & includes a fenced off play area for children with swings & climbing frames.
The East & West Hills overlook Hastings Old Town, which has proved popular with visitors & now features "The Gerwood Art Gallery".
The West Hill is nearer the house & has the newly renovated Smugglers Caves. The ruins of Hastings Castle is also close by, which you can see from the front bedroom.

The surrounding area has Alexandra Park at the bottom of the hill. The Bos playing field is near the back of the property which includes afenced & gated area with swings & a secure playing area for the young. The field is a favourite with dogs & their owners & some benches to relax. The Old Town has character with many Bars & Restaurants.

How do damage deposits work?

If Mount (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
