The apartment (awarded with Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence) is located in the historical heartland of Florence. Overlooking a secluded courtyard in the picturesque quarter of San Frediano, the apartment is unusually peaceful for its location. Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti, Piazza Signoria and Duomo are all within five minutes walking distance.

The apartment is managed exclusively by me (owner).

LOCATION

The governing administration of Florence designated San Frediano (the area in which the apartment is located) the perfect location for tourists. For this reason San Frediano was transformed into one of the most beautiful and interesting places of Florence, as the area is home to some of the most important Florentine artisan workshops. Within the area all kinds of amenities are available, ranging from restaurants to artistic and musical events. Culture and entertainment are extremely easy to find!

Within the area all kinds of amenities are available, ranging from restaurants to artistic and musical events. Culture and entertainment are extremely easy to find!

THE BUILDING

The apartment is located on the second floor of an ancient Florentine building. The walls of the apartment are extremely thick, as in any traditional Florentine building. This guarantee a noise-free and peaceful environment throughout the day. The apartment has an enchanting open-air private terrace (approximately 30sqm) from which you have a beautiful view of the dome of the “Chiesa del Cestello”.

THE INTERIOR

The apartment has been completely renovated and refurbished, and every detail has been carefully considered to make your stay even more enjoyable. The exposed beams on the ceiling and parquet floor transform the apartment into a warm, relaxing and luminous place. The apartment is composed of a main room, small kitchen, bathroom and a private terrace. The main room is fitted with a double-size fold-down bed and a high-quality pouf bed which can accommodate guests of any age. If a further space is required, we also offer a camping bed. The bathroom has been fully refurbished with the best quality materials and decorated to the highest standards. The shower is spacious (120cm x 90cm) and fitted with top quality materials. The apartment is equipped with a dishwasher, fridge, microwave, kettle, iron, hair-dryer, amongst other appliances. The guests have free WI-FI access to internet, and at their disposal: a tablet, a TV, a DVD player and a video games console to make the holiday more comfortable. For relaxation, there are several English books and DVDs. For safety purposes, the apartment is equipped with a security door of the latest generation and a wall safe.

PRIVATE TERRACE

At night, the terrace can be easily illuminated by LED lights and/or with a large lamp. Adorned with beautiful plants and flowers, the terrace is probably the apartment's best part. The private terrace is divided in two parts: The first part, raised and fitted with an outdoor lounge which can accommodate 2 or 3 people. The second part has a large table which can accommodate up to 8 people. The astonishing view of the dome of the “Chiesa del Cestello” can be easily enjoyed from the terrace. A magnificently designed outdoor umbrella ensures that guests can enjoy the terrace even during the hottest summer.

CHECK IN/OUT

The check-in is from 15:00.

The apartment must be left before, and not after, 11:00.

NOTE

The folding bed is not light, so it could be quite difficult to close for a single women and for old people.

“Boutique style apartment”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2016

We had a beautiful stay in this lovely apartment. It was so clean and all the added touches such as toothbrushes, and food made it like a boutique style hotel room. The terrace is beautifully appointed. The position was perfect with a short 5-10 minute stroll to the sights of Florence and very easy to reach from the train station. Communication was excellent throughout. Thank you for a lovely stay!

“Perfect host, perfect accommodation”

Reviewed 29 May 2013

Lou was the perfect host - collecting us from the train station and keeping in touch throughout our stay to check that everything was o.k. and providing tips on where to eat etc. Beautiful apartment and the outdoor terrace was great for relaxing after walking around the city. Great location also - Oltrarno has the best shops, restaurants and bars. All the local shopkeepers were really friendly and helpful. Just 10-15 minutes walk to the main part of the city also.

“You cannot go wrong”

Great apartment in great location. Very functional use of space - has everything you need. Wonderful terrace for resting after busy days. Great local shops, bakeries, restaurants. Thank you Lou for getting us at the train station. And thank you for letting us enjoy your wonderful apartment in fantastic Florence.

“A Fantastic Apartment and Owner”

Reviewed 1 May 2013

We stayed at this fantastic apartment for a week in April 2013 and loved it. It is based in the Oltrarno district of Florence so away from all the noise of the center but is only 5-10 minutes walk it and all the sights. There are a number of shops and restaurants in the area, Da Sergio was particularly lovely. As was the shop across the road that sold lovely cold meats, cheeses and essential supplies. When we arrived Lou very kindly collected us from the train station, making things really easy for us. He speaks very good English and in the short drive to the apartment we learnt a lot about Florence. He took us through everything in the apartment and was on the other end of the phone if we had any problems (we had none!). The apartment itself is amazing! The terrace was really nice and we can only imagine what it would be like in the middle of summer. We were lucky to get a couple of really nice days where we could sit outside and enjoy it. The kitchen has everything you need to make yourself some pasta if you don’t fancy going out. Lou is a fantastic host and we look forward to going back one day.

“Well renovated apartment in excellent location, and a fantastic owner”

Reviewed 5 Nov 2012

This apartment is really well located, in the less touristy, quite trendy, Oltrarno side of the city. There are some fantastic restaurants and bars nearby, but you're also ten minutes walk across the river (with beautiful views of the Ponte Vecchio) from the train station and all the major sites. The apartment itself is small, but has its decor is very modern and pleasant, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The terrace is perfect for an alfresco dinner or drink, and the kitchen very well equipped if you want to eat in. The owner Lou has obviously gone to a great deal of trouble to think of his guests and that really improved the experience for us - the service was better than at most five star hotels in that respect! He was extremely helpful when our travel plans changed at the last minute, and came to pick us up from the train station which we appreciated so much after a long journey. Any questions we had were dealt with immediately which was fantastic. He had also left lots of useful recommendations for bars and restaurants in the local area which were great, and better than those in the guidebooks - we particularly recommend Flet, a nearby bar, and Il Guscio, a restaurant Lou recommended which was the best meal we had during our (quite gourmet!) week in Florence. Overall, a brilliant value apartment which we wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Thanks so much, Lou.

“Beautiful Apartment.”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2012

We stayed for 3 nights in this apartment and had a fantastic time, the apartment is clean and modern with everything you need and a huge outdoor terrace which was a real treat. The shower was a real luxury and very powerful and the bed very comfortable. The owner Lou was a great host leaving us flip flops, umbrella, newspapers translated to English and a DVD on Florence which was a lovely touch. The area around the apartment is busy with bars and restaurants, we ate at some of the restaurants Lou recommended and they were great. Treat yourself and book this apartment now!

“Great little apartment”

Reviewed 30 Sep 2012

Really nice apartment in a great location, just a short walk from all the major sights in Florence. Not the biggest apartment, but plenty of room for 2 people and the terrace is lovely. The owner, Lou, was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

“Glorious Week In Florence”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2012

A beautiful sunny week starting with the friendly owner collecting us from the station having flown into Pisa which is one hour away by hourly trains. The property was just the right size for two and we enjoyed the evenings on the terrace; the terrace is as good as it looks! There is no need for a car as the apartment is on the south side of the river but close to all the bridge crossings if you wish to venture north where the main areas of tourism are sited. Locally there are several Piazza's with bars & restaurants which we explored and the local area is served by many small shops for bread etc. For me I went to Florence to enjoy the sites, first time to Italy , but also to chill & catch up;three books later I managed that. The owner & the people are very friendly & I throughly recommend the apartment & Florence.

“Stunning apartment in beautiful Florence”

Reviewed 3 Jul 2012

We spent 3 days in this fabulous apartment which was an easy walk to everything we wanted to see in Florence. The apartment has been very cleverly designed and contains everything you could possibly need. The very best appliances and fittings have been selected and everything has a 'designer' look and feel. The wifi is fast, free and unlimited, for showing off all the photos you'll want to take of yourself drinking champagne on the terrace with the dome in the background. The bed is extremely comfortable, the shower (with the large, designer shower head) is fantastic and the security was outstanding, including a small safe for passports/phones etc. Having said that, the area was very safe and central and we never felt the need for it. We would not hesitate to stay in this apartment again. Lou (the owner) was very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay very, very much! David and Deborah Cooke Melbourne, Australia
