Description

Elegant and comfortable apartment with lovely terrace in the historic center of Florence. Completely refurbished in 2014. Two blocks from the Duomo. Centrally located in one of the oldest streets in Florence in the Via La Pergola area. Walking distance to all major sights, Uffizi Gallery, Statue of David, Ponte Vecchio etc. And near the best shopping streets! The apartment is very quiet and peaceful which is very rare for the center of Florence. It is in a delightful city-center small 'neighborhood' with its own good, reasonably-priced restaurants, coffee-bars and artisan shops. It is near the open-air food market of Sant'Ambrogio and the Piazza dei Ciompi antiques area in Santa Croce.

The apartment has been restored with immense care, using the finest Tuscan materials, with fine tiles, parquet floors and marble bathroom. It is really well furnished (recently refurbished ). It is airy and bright, with a small terrace leading directly off the bedroom. The very large entrance hall

“Brilliant Apartment”

Reviewed 29 Sep 2012

Fantastic stay in this brilliant Florence apartment. The superlatives in the other reviews are justified. The apartment is beautiful, it is impeccably clean, and the location is perfect. The price is right, the owner is professional and consistently helpful. What’s not to like!

“Superb apartment in the middle of Florence”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2012

We stayed here for 5 days and wished we could have stayed longer. This is a perfect base to see the sights in Florence. The apartment is very well located in the historic centre so we walked everywhere. It was very clean and beautifully presented and to be honest much bigger and nicer than we expected. There was juice, mineral water and milk awaiting us - a nice touch. Very good air-con. We recommend this apartment very highly and if we come back to Florence, it will be our first choice. Excellent value considering the quality of the accommodation. The helpful owner provides a very good guide to restaurants. We also stayed at his place near Cortona which was magic.

“Genuine Italian Hospitality invites you to live as a local”

We have stayed at La Pergola on two occasions. We returned in January 2012 for two weeks, as we just loved our time there two years ago. Cesare's e-mails were welcoming & warm, sincere and prompt. In all ways, we felt like we were returning to our own 'home in Firenze'. La Pergola is all that the photos depict. A chance to relax and unwind as you return from days outings in this beautiful city. The stairs aren't a problem, just go slowly. The apartment was warm and inviting upon our return and the decor is so very tasteful it felt like our own Itallian villa. David called on our arrival and this was much appreciated. We really felt we could call them, should there be any problems. A friend from London came to stay for a long weekend, and the folding bed was made up for her beautifully. Again, a call to check that all was in order for us - so very thoughtful. We cannot recommend this accommodation more highly and hope to return again. Cesare's genuine hospitality and thoughtful attention to his guest's needs is so very much a part of this lovely property. Viva La Pergola!

“A superb apartment which helped us to live in Florence rather than just visit”

Reviewed 25 Dec 2011

We stayed in the apartment for two weeks in August 2011. The arrangements and the welcome were professional and warm. The apartment is well located for all the places to see in Florence but it is also part of a local community with local shops and restaurants that are off the tourist track. The owners gave lots of information about the area and descriptions of the locality which helped us to find our way around. We had a perfect two weeks and will be staying at La Pergola again when we next visit Florence.

“Live like an Italian and not a tourist.”

Tired of hotels and dull room service? It might be time to rent a flat, spread out, relax and live like a local. Tucked away on Borgo Pinti, within walking distance of all the major attractions in Florence, is a sweet little place that will give you a true taste of local life. You won't need a car since walking is part of the vacation. Buses and trains can take you to visit other towns. Although you'll have great WiFi, resist the temptation to be on your computer and head to my favorite Florence restaurant almost next door, Accadi, with tasty food, good prices and a charming staff. Visit the little bakery where you can get a piping hot pastry for breakfast and the many other small shops along the street. The gracious owner will provide you with all the names of places to go. (We spent a week in Florence and didn't have nearly enough time to see it all!) You'll have a little kitchen, but we never bothered to cook since there were so many interesting places to eat in the neighborhood. The flat is carefully and beautifully restored in an historic building and the price can't be beat. You'll enjoy a climb of four flights of stone stairs but think of it as practice for the Duomo. When your holiday is over, you won't feel like you just visited Florence, you'll feel like you lived there. And maybe, like me, you'll have a tear in your eye when you say goodbye to it.

“Great Location, Exactly As Advertised”

Reviewed 28 Nov 2011

We rented this apt for one week in Sept. We arrived by train and took a cab to the apt - that was the last time we used a cab - we were able to walk to all the sites, stroll through neighbourhoods, get our groceries easily, early morning coffee - the location is excellent - very central. When we arrived the owner's brother greeted us, helped us with our luggage (no elevator - quite a few stairs), showed us the apt and how everything worked. We had free internet service, the air-conditioning worked very well (it was outrageously hot), the master bedroom was large and very comfortable. We were able to do our laundry easily. If we were to return to Florence I would stay here again - the fact that the apt. was withing walkin distance of all the major sites, that the apt. was very clean and fresh, and the owner, Cesare was very pleasant to deal with is makes it easy to decide to rent this apt. The owner was very helpful with suggestions for restaurants and different sites to see.
