Location description from owner

The England region

This location had everything to offer, from the natural hot mineral springs, to the verdant wooded hills, giving shelter, game, and necessary resources such as lead and coal. In addition, the settlement had its own Clairvoyant or Seer, so that the new city, called Aquae Sulis, became a spiritual centre as well. This was a big city, like Rome, with stone walls, stone buildings with decorative porticos and mosaic floors, and with its mild climate, green and pleasant hills, became a major retirement centre for generals and senators. Its Roman heyday lasted for 400 years! The Romans left when their empire collapsed and the rest is history.

Central Bath

Today, Bath is a small, but cosmopolitan and lovely city. In the time of King George, the city fathers built many innovative buildings in a style that has come to be known as the Georgian Style. Bath is the birthplace of this once modern architecture. Now, with its architectural integrity and the golden hue of its stone, it is one of the jewels of Britain's heritage.

“The best place to stay in Bath”

Reviewed 8 Apr 2013

We've stayed at the Abbey House Mews twice now and absolutely love it! It's so close to the centre of the city - everything is within walking distance so once your car is parked you don't need it again - and yet its still quiet enough to sleep very well. This is probably because the accommodation is really gorgeous; spacious, restful and well decorated. We'll definitely be back again!

“the most beautiful and central self catering place you can stay in Bath”

Reviewed 18 Mar 2013

i have just returned from 48 hours in Abbey Mews with 7 friends to celebrate my 50th birhday. The accomodation felt like home to us for the whole week end. it has been beautifully decorated and furnished and could not have been more central. we were less than 5 minute walk from every restaurant I had booked as well as the shops and the Thermal Spa which we visited. I have aready booked to stay in a larger property with the same owner and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Abbey Mews to anyone. bring on the next visit!
