The Splendid living room with impressive windows overlooks a broad street of tall Bath stone terraces and has two stylish sofas (including a sofa-bed) and two armchairs to seat up to 8. A contemporary media cabinet has a large TV with DVD and Wi-Fi and is filled with games and books.

On this floor is a large bright master bedroom in grey and red to complement the decorative grey and red marble and tile fireplace. Two 3' single beds can be zipped together to become a 6' superking. There is a capacious contemporary wardrobe and dressing table/ desk with stool, along with a chest of drawers with a small TV.

Another, double room in serene grey and heather has a pretty decorative fireplace with shelf space in an alcove cupboard. This room has a 5' king size bed, a contemporary wardrobe and large dressing table/ desk with stool.

On this floor is a large period style master bathroom. The centrepiece is a free-standing roll-top bath set in front of an elegant decorative fire-place. This elegant room also has a large shower and hand basin with storage under, and further storage in a built-in cupboard beside the fireplace.

On the half landing leading downstairs is a compact contemporary shower room, tiled throughout in glossy grey, with a corner shower, hand basin and WC.

Downstairs is the final bedroom in restful grey and teal, which overlooks the courtyard. Two 3' single beds can once again become a 6' superking. There are two built-in wardrobes with shelf space, either side of a pretty decorative fireplace, along with a small dressing table.

The spacious kitchen/diner mixes country and contemporary style, with a combination of stripped pine floors, rustic kitchen table (to seat 8), original Georgian dressers and food cupboards, along with a run of contemporary fitted units with stone worktop and a sumptuous chandelier as the centre-piece. The large walled courtyard is fully paved with a shrub boarder, neighbouring trees and an outdoor table with 8 chairs The church spire of St Mary's in Bathwick are visible over the surrounding rooftops.

Location description from manager

The England region

The house has a great central location and Bath has many beautiful historic sites, wonderful museums and galleries, good restaurants, lively bars, great entertainment and absolutely gorgeous shops and all within a short level walk. The Holborne Museum is around the corner which also features a lovely restaurant and coffee house with Sydney Gardens backing onto it. You can play tennis on the public courts in Sydney gardens or walk/bike along the scenic canal towpath for lovely views of Bath.

In town book a show at the Theatre Royal, an evening at Komedia comedy club or a soothing session at the Thermae Spa. You can also take advantage of proximity to The Rec, home of Bath Rugby with the season running from September to May and matches every two weeks.

Central Bath

Bath & the Best of the West!
The attractions of the World Heritage City of Bath, are well-known, but Bath is also a perfect base from which to explore the picturesque West Country of England. Located close to the M4 and M5 motorways, 1.5 hours by train from London and just over half an hour from Bristol International Airport, Bath is surrounded by several designated areas of outstanding natural beauty and many of the region's attractions can be reached within a short journey time from the city.
One firm family favourite is Longleat, owned by the Marquis of Bath and set in 900 acres of landscaped parkland. Longleat Safari Park is home to the famous Lions of Longleat and a full day of fun is guaranteed, as this attraction boasts not just the safari, but a maze, adventure park, Jungle Express and much more.
Heading slightly further west is the cathedral city of Wells with its narrow streets, abundance of historic buildings such as the moated Bishop's Palace and lively twice-weekly market. In the same direction you will find Cheddar Caves and Gorge where the world-renowned Cheddar cheese is made and the caves of Wookey Hole, home of the legendary Witch of Wookey – great for a rainy day underground adventure!
En route from Bath to Wells, you should not miss the mystical Glastonbury Tor, one of the most spiritual sites in the UK. Steeped in history and legend, the climb to the top is well worth the effort for the views across the Somerset Levels.
World famous Glastonbury Festival needs little introduction, however, it's always worth checking out what's on at The Royal Bath & West Showground on the outskirts of Shepton Mallet which hosts anything from antiques fairs to The Royal Bath & West Show.
To the south east of Bath lies Stonehenge, a majestic stone circle that has been the subject of much speculation ranging from how it was built to ceremonial significance. Audio tours are available on entry and it retains its magic whatever the season, but particularly around the summer and winter solstices. Around 25 miles away is Avebury, considered by many to be the most impressive of all remaining pre-historic earthworks in Europe.
For outdoor enthusiasts there is a wealth of walks, cycle rides and boating opportunities with cycle and canoe hire readily available. Bath is an ideal base for sporting aficionados, whether as spectators or participants when attending events such as rugby or football matches, Badminton Horse Trials, Castle Combe Circuit or perhaps taking a trip down to the coast where you will find Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, where the sailing events for the 2012 Olympics were held.
Last but by no means least, neighbouring Bristol with its iconic suspension bridge, floating harbour, SS Great Britain, vibrant street life and home to famous street artist, Banksy, should not be missed.
Whatever your taste, stay with Bath Holiday Rentals and our helpful, knowledgeable staff will assist you in planning your perfect stay in the West Country.
