The England region

Bath was purpose built as a regal holiday playground in the mid 17th century for the King, his Court, the rich, the famous and the simply indulgent (plus the odd gambler, socialite and drinker).

Just come and carry on the tradition. It’s all still all here, good fun, come rain or shine.

West Country

Read your travel book and write tour notes resting on the sweeping lawns of Victoria Park just 25 yards away. Look up to muse over the splendidly imposing Royal Crescent and see an original Ha-Ha Wall on the lawn. Or catch an open-top tour-bus from the pick-up point right there on the corner to see the sights of Bath in comfort and with a guide. Stroll over to No 1 the Royal Crescent and experience how the Georgians really lived or walk 200 yards to the Fashion Museum in the Assembly Rooms to see how they dressed. Reward yourself with afternoon-tea at the Royal Crescent. Then spoil yourself with a choice of fine dining (just ask us), really great theatre for all ages and tastes, a festival of music choices, or just shop till you drop at the best of the west in Bath.

Act young at the crazy golf (or just play on the course up the hill), play tennis at the Club (with lent rackets) or simply stroll round the Botanical Gardens, then take a boat out on the canal or watch the hot air-balloons take-off on all nice warm evenings.

“Great townhouse! Great location!”

Reviewed 24 Nov 2016

I stayed with a group of 9 for my hen party and Liz the owner was more than happy to help with any of our needs. The townhouse itself was very clean with a spacious living room ideal for big parties like ours. Very impressed with the location, close to a car park and a short walk to the centre. I would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Roopa, we are so pleased you had a lovely stay and hope to welcome you again. Your comments are much appreciated, thank you. Best wishes. Liz

“Gorgeous property, excellent location, and fantastic short break overall!”

Reviewed 5 Nov 2016

The owners could not have provided a more helpful booking process, during which we were faffing about how many of us would be coming and a group of our party then decided to extend their stay - the owners were really flexible about this. We were a hen party provided with wine in the fridge on arrival, a clean and beautifully furnished house in a gorgeous location, which more than made up for having to park our cars away from the house (it really was only a short walk and we had no trouble parking up to unload bags first). Beds were comfy, linen fresh and lovely, kitchen well-stocked and we all got very fit visiting each others' rooms!! It really was a special place and Liz was great at offering recommendations for the local area - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Marie Got house.

We very much appreciate you troubling to send your review, which is lovely, thank you! And clearly you had a lovely time reflecting your review and your memories. We're delighted your visit worked out so well and more than pleased to have helped out where we could to help make it all the better. Best wishes to all your party.

“Fantastic place for a reunion”

Reviewed 23 Oct 2016

Brilliant location, friendly owners and great space. We stayed for a weekend reunion with friends and couldn't have asked for more. Great central location for a wander around town. Not too close to have an issue with noise, yet not so far that you couldn't nip back if you had to.

Thank you Richard for sparing the time to post a review. We are very pleased you enjoyed your weekend reunion at Marie Got's Townhouse. It makes a great place to celebrate landmark birthdays and family and friend gatherings. We hope to see you again!

“Splendor in Georgian Bath”

Reviewed 11 Apr 2016

The Marie Got Townhouse in Bath was a superb vacation experience in every way. As a place to stay it was a luxurious abode, designed to house your needs and compliment the style and history of Bath. The pre-booking arrangements were professional and efficient. The greetings and introduction to the property was supremely hosted by Anne. Her efficient but exciting manner in dealing with the handing over of the Townhouse and its delights was exceptionally managed. The Townhouse is delightful in every way and compliments the style of Bath and in particular captures the Georgian splendor that surrounds its location.

Thank you Bill for your kind words, we're delighted you and your wife enjoyed your stay at Marie Got's Townhouse and appreciated its great location. We're always on hand to assist our guests and happy to offer recommendations, and pleased you had an enjoyable evening at 'The Chequers' relaxing with your friends. We would love to welcome you back in the future, kind regards

“Absolutely perfect for a hen weekend!”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2016

I booked this house for a hen weekend and it surpassed all our expectations. Anne was great from the initial contact till we left the house, she even posted a dress I left behind with no hassle at all! The house has all single beds which was perfect for our group as it seemed 'fair' for everyone. All towels and linen were provided and the little touches of providing tea, coffee and toilet roll etc made the organisation so much easier. The kitchen is fully stocked and there are plenty of glasses, plates etc so no need to wash everything straight away! We all had a great weekend and this house provided a great place to hang out in between activities. I would not hesitate to book again.

We're delighted you all had a wonderful weekend celebrating Rosie's forthcoming wedding and thank you for posting a review Jenny. We're always appreciative of our guests taking the time and thank you for your kind words. thank you. Enjoy the wedding, best wishes to you all.

Perfect location for a large group of family or friends. We stayed as a group of Women aging from 22 - 60 for a hen do. Fabulous location, everything within walking distance. “Excellent stay”

Reviewed 28 Jan 2016

If you're looking for a great house for a group of friends to stay in and you want to be amongst the Georgian history, then I would definitely recommend Marie Got's Townhouse. It is situated between the Royal Crescent and the Circus (two must see sights in Bath). The house is a thirty second walk from No.1 Royal Crescent. The house has a good size kitchen/living room with enough seating for all but the highlight of this room is the lovely window seat which has a great view of the quaint street outside - Margaret's Building, with an Italian restaurant,, an antique map shop, a very nice cafe which does breakfast all day Sunday and a lovely bag shop just downstairs. There are three bathrooms, with lovely showers and kitted out with toiletries and towels. The bedrooms all have their own history and quirkiness to them - comfy beds too. It was a treat to have milk, tea, biscuits and wine given to us on arrival - this went down very well. With only a five minute walk to Milsom Street (one of the main shopping streets), and with the pure easiness of booking the accommodation, I highly recommend this property to stay in. Enjoy your stay.

“Amazing location for New Year in Bath”

Reviewed 6 Jan 2016

On arrival we were met by Anne, who made us feel very welcome. She explained where everything was and how everything worked. As a group of 12 the space was perfect, the beds were comfortable and the house was really well equipped. The house is in a brilliant location for exploring Bath. Prior to our holiday I had asked for a couple of recommendations for eating out. We tried one of them out for dinner one evening- just lovely! All in all a wonderful start to 2016!
