“Funky Apartment”

Reviewed 9 Feb 2016

This apartment is so very handy for the city centre - we parked our cars on Friday and didn't move them till Sunday as everything was accessible on foot. James provided parking permits too which was handy. The apartment is furnished to a high standard with plenty of 'wow factor'. It was well equipped and James was on hand should a problem arise, he even provided champagne glasses on request - thank you James! There are loads of interesting knick knacks dotted about the place which makes it a really interesting place to stay. We also enjoyed feeding the fish in the huge orb of a fish tank! Noise from the street at night and the noisy plumbing were possibly the only negatives.

“Fabulous”

“Outstanding location in the very heart of Bath”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2016

My family and I (4 of us including 2 teenagers) enjoyed a great week over the Christmas break in this unusual but superbly well location basement flat. The booking process was smooth with James being very prompt and helpful with replies to questions. The flat is well thought out and decorated in a modern yet unique style, much more flamboyant and richly fitted out that most holiday lets we have tried before. Well connected TV's in each room was well received, especially by my teenage kids. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering purposes, although we didn't do too much of that as there are so many great places to eat and drink right on the doorstep. The small welcome pack of milk, chocolate and 2 mini wine bottles is a nice idea. (Although I wasn't a fan of previously used jams and butter being left for our use - or perhaps I'm extra fussy). The car carking permits are especially useful in the centre of Bath. It took a little while to find a space few times, but that's no surprise in the Christmas shopping rush. Be carful not to use the permits for parking directly outside the flat though as parking on the Fountain Roundabout is not included. My only negative is a very personal one. I did miss sunlight during the day time in the flat. I fully appreciate that it is a basement and that this is always going to be an issue, it's just that I missed daylight. That said, given the flats location and attention to detail we would definitely stay again and have no reservation in recommending the property.

“Cool and Funky Apartment in Central Bath Location”

Reviewed 18 Dec 2015

We stayed in this apartment for a festive December weekend and it made the perfect location for us to meet up, as we were travelling from 3 parts of the country. My daughters (17 & 21) instantly described the place as 'cool and funky' and it had everything we need for the duration of our stay (including some lovely welcome food and drink). It took us a while to find the apartment, causing one daughter to describe its location as 12 Grimmauld Place (Harry Potter reference) but once we realised it was down some steps, it was all very obvious. The front bedroom was a little noisy after pub closing time, as we live in a very rural location and are not used to city noises but it won't put us off returning. We will definitely try to stay here again the next time we visit Bath.

“a new level of excellence”

What a superb apartment. if you're a movie buff, this apartment is for you. Modern smart tv's in bedrooms and lounge. The whole place designed by someone with a special gift. Nothing has been overlooked. Easy parking with the parking permits provided and right in the town centre! Like Arnie said, I'LL BE BACK!!

“Couldn't have got a better position to visit Bath from”

Reviewed 24 Jul 2015

Just got back from a wonderful time in Bath. The apartment couldn't have been much closer to the areas of Bath that were on our list of places that HAD to be visited. Picked by our 17 year old teenage daughter for it's quirky and kitsch decor she wasn't disappointed...her squeals of delight with her room, especially those lights above her bed lasted the 2 days....although the panic at night of a door with no blind begs me to say please fit a blind on there James,to save other parents the midnight frantic search for black bags to cover the window . Thoughtful welcome of wine, chocolates, tassimo pods and milk in the fridge. Yes the noise at night in the front bedroom is maybe louder than most of us are used to, but it's to be expected for city living. The beds were the best I've slept in on holiday rentals for years,in fact the only time I've woken up not with back pain in the last year. My only complaint would be that a face towel..ie a flannel is not good to wrap around your hair, hand towels would be more welcome. Saying all that,as the 'teenager' is looking at Bath Spa for university James may be accommodating us more in the future.

“Gorgeous apartment with the best location in Bath!”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2015

For a truly relaxing weekend, leave your car at home and take the train to Bath: strolling around Bath is a real treat – and this apartment is an easy walk from the station and an easy walk to anywhere in the city centre. Finding the apartment when you first arrive may be a bit tricky, but it's perfectly located – just over Pulteney Bridge and next to the Dappa hair salon (look for the Laura Place sign on the railings and the grey staircase down to the flat, and you're there). Once you're inside, you may not want to go out again.... It's a gorgeous apartment: a cute little courtyard (perfect for an al fresco lunch) leads into the superbly-equipped flat. Washing machine, dishwasher, free WiFi, four TVs.... There's only one toilet, so bear that in mind if there are five of you in your group (we coped - but we'd all lived together as students so we're used to a bit of sharing and queuing). The apartment is full of character, packed with artwork and personality, and a fish bowl provides a homely touch (they were all alive when we left - honest!). James the owner has thought of everything: if you do arrive by car, parking permits are provided. If it rains, help yourself to the umbrellas on the coat-stand. If you fancy a drink, there's wine in the fridge. And if you like chocolate, he thoughtfully provides a selection of that too. The giant Toblerone was much appreciated when we fancied a snack in the early hours. As was the Milk Tray.... Although it's so close to the city centre, it was surprisingly quiet - we weren't aware of any outside noise. Over the road, The Boater was a nice little pub with live music on Saturday night, and there's a big Waitrose close by, if you're planning on eating in. Eat on the terrace at Cote, have brunch at Cafe Lucca, and treat yourself to a couple of hours at the Thermae Bath Spa – we did, and enjoyed it all! So, yes, I can definitely recommend the Fountain apartment. For two days and two nights, we felt as though we lived in Bath – and that was a lovely feeling! Thank you James!

“Comfortable, Stylish and Convienient”

Reviewed 4 Jul 2015

The Fountain Square apartment was the centerpiece of a great stay in Bath for us. The location is perfect. It is 5 minutes or less to the Abbey and Roman Baths, and countless restaurants are within 10 minutes. The apartment is very large - there's plenty of room to spread out and relax. The kitchen is well-appointed, and everything we need was right there in the apartment, down to the emergency tool kit. To top it off, the apartment is richly decorated with movie-themed artwork and knickknacks. Clearly, a great deal of care was put into making this apartment a great getaway. Overall, it was a perfect stay and a wonderful experience.
