We are a pretty 12 minute walk into town for all the main sights: the unique Roman Baths and Pump Rooms, the Abbey, Jane Austen Centre, Royal Crescent, Costume Museum and new Thermae Spa .We also have great shops, restaurants, pubs and tea rooms. This is a pretty walk to town via Sydney Gardens, Great Pulteney Street ( the film set for Vanity Fair) and Pulteney Bridge ( filmed briefly in Les Miserables). Although slightly uphill coming back, the walk through Sydney Gardens is worth it . There is also a regular bus from the Abbey that stops opposite our house, or get a taxi for approx £6. Bath University is a 4 minute drive (steep uphill walk) or get the Uni bus from nearby Bathwick Hill. Central Bath is easy to explore on foot but we can also recommend the hop on Routemaster Tour Bus as an easy way around. As well as beautiful architecture and museums, Bath has great shopping , places to eat and drink and good theatre. There are lovely parks and gardens to explore, take a balloon flight or a boat trip along the River Avon. In spring/summer we have various events for music and literature, including the famous Jane Austen Festival. And in the winter the Rugby, Half Marathon and a huge Christmas Market.. For an alternative day out, the maritime city of Bristol, ancient Stonehenge and the pretty Cotswolds are all within easy reach, by car or train, or escorted tours. OUR RATES include towels, bedding and welcome tray / breakfast basket. We can also provide a Travel cot or Z-bed for a child under 16. PLEASE REQUEST.

NB minimum 2nights , some high season dates 3 nights.

Location description from owner

The England region

Bath is in north Somerset and on the southern edge of the Cotswolds.

The small city of Bath is compact and most of it can be seen on foot. There is plenty to see and do for a few days but if you wish to explore further, the region has lots to offer.

Within an hour's drive of Bath, the pretty Cotswolds area will delight you with quaint villages, old cottages , gift shops and cream teas.

To the west, the city and port of Bristol is 10 minutes by train, and in less than hour (by train or road) you can cross over the River Severn into Wales. To the east you can visit ancient Avebury Rings and Stonehenge, or take a fast train to London in 90minutesl

Central Bath

We are about 12 minutes walk to central Bath. The pretty route via Sydney Gardens and Great Pulteney Street leads to the city centre for all the main tourist sights, shops, museums, restaurants, pubs. The return walk includes 5 minutes gently uphill, or a bus from the centre stops opposite the house. Taxis from the train station or Abbey cost about £6. The pretty Kennet&Avon canal path is only 3 minutes from us if you fancy a countryside walk or bike ride. Hire bikes nearby. OUR FULL ADDRESS AND DIRECTIONS ARE PROVIDED ONCE BOOKING CONFIRMED

“Lovely stay over the Easter weekend”

Reviewed 11 Apr 2016

My partner and I had a lovely stay at Bath North Lodge garden apartment. The apartment is in an excellent location, just a short walk from the centre of Bath, and you can easily take a taxi for approximately £5 if you prefer not to walk. It is a great size for 2 people and is perfectly clean and comfortable. The availability of a parking space in Trevor and Eileen's drive way is a bonus, as parking can be expensive when staying at other places in Bath. On arrival, we were greeted by Easter biscuits, bread, milk and eggs as a welcome gift. We found almost everything we needed in the apartment, and even when we weren't able to find an iron, Trevor and Eileen came home to lend us theirs! We would highly recommend the apartment, and the very accommodating hosts.

Owner's reply: Hannah, many thanks for your generous review. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Eileen and Trevor

“Cosy well designed apartment handy for Bath”

Reviewed 20 Jan 2015

Had been told Bath was beautiful so booked a couple of days after New year on our way back from Devon. After abit of difficulty finding it (apparently there are two North Roads) we were warmly welcomed by Trevor and Eileen who allowed us in early which gave us more time to explore Bath which really is beautiful. The property is under Trevor and Eileen's bungalow and you share their drive but they are not at all intrusive. It is exceptionally well designed to a very high standard (the couch was slightly uncomfortable but that would be my only negative comment) and was lovely and warm in December. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. It is on main road but we heard no noise from inside the property and as everybody says it is a very nice stroll in to the town. Unless you wish to be right in the centre I would definitely recommend this apartment it has everything you need for a couple.

Owner's reply: Thank you Debbie , glad you enjoyed your stay, do come again! (NB future guests, the postcode & location map on here are correct, the corner house North Rd /Warminster Rd, near Sydney Gardens. And the couch is a sofa bed, which always tend to be firmer)

“Bath Bed & Breakfast with the WOW factor”

Reviewed 23 Dec 2014

Superb location 10 minutes walk to the City centre. Top quality accommodation with extremely friendly service. A must stay property for those visiting the wonderful city of Bath.

“great place to stay”

Reviewed 26 Jan 2014

This is the second time I've stayed with Eileen and Trevor. They are warm, accommodating hosts who went out of their way to make my stay more comfortable .The flat is lovely, clean and homely. The bed is really comfortable, the bathroom is spotless with a great hot shower, the kitchen has everything you need and its a pleasant 10 minute walk to Bath centre. I highly recommend this holiday rental.

Owner's reply: Thank you Becca for choosing us on both occasions. We have enjoyed having you, and really appreciate your kind review. :)
