This luxury apartment is situated on the heights overlooking a charming valley, within 1 mile of the riverside town of Cenac (Cenac et St Julien), which has many essential and leisure facilities. Close by is the ancient bastide town of Domme, with its grotto and panoramic views of the river, and the chateau villages of La Roque Cageac, Castlenaud la Chapelle, Vezac and Beynac. The larger town of Sarlat La Caneda is about 6 miles away, with its wonderful medieval “old town”, chic boutiques, an abundance of restaurants, bistros, cafes and bars, entertainments, large retail facilities, and many other services.
At Cenac you are at the centre of all the activities that La Dordogne has to offer: chateaux galore, grottos, troglodyte dwellings, bastide towns, vineyards, wonderful scenery in which to walk, cycle, horse ride and canoe . . and if you're feeling very flush, you can see it all from the air in a hot air balloon!

The main room accommodates the sitting area, comprising of a leather double sofabed, and a matching leather double sofa. HD TV, Freesat(uk) and TNT, is provided, together with DVD and VCR facilities. Also a music centre with radio, cd and tape is there for your enjoyment. The lounge leads on to the dining area, next to the fully fitted and furnished kitchen. Adjacent to the kitchen is a separate utility room, which houses the fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and essential cleaning and ironing equipment.
Leading off the main room is an ante room (dressing room with built-in wardrobe/cupboard) which gives access to both the double bedroom and the shower room (with hydro-spa shower, wc, and hand basin).
The whole apartment is well insulated, cool in the heat of summer, and quick to heat (by central heating and/or wall fire) in the winter months.

The apartment forms part of the owners house, which may also be let, so the gardens and pool facilities are shared
The pool is within the fully fenced lower garden, and enjoys wonderful views facing west over the valley. The pool is unheated and is open for the months of June, July, August and September, unless there is an “Indian Summer”, which may extend the season into October.
The apartment will accommodate up to max. 4 adults, sleeping on 1 x double bed and 1 x double sofabed,, inclusive of electricity, hot water, and central heating (when applicable). The base rental price is for 1or 2 guests, an additional nightly price is applicable to each guest in excess of 2 persons (ie utilizing the sofa-bed), to a maximum of 4 guests in total (see price tables).
Bedding and towels (not pool) are provided at the laundry cost of €15 euros per bed used per week.
End of stay minimum cleaning charge of €35 euros (basis leave as you find).
For all rental periods, a Security Deposit is required of €300 euros, payable in cash on arrival, which will be repaid in full if not required to help meet any damages or losses incurred during your stay. By special arrangement, the Security Deposit may be paid in advance by UK direct bank transfer of £250, for refund also by bank transfer.
Laundry charges, together with the end of rental cleaning charge, will be deducted from the Security Deposit if not paid separately in advance
The apartment is normally available on the day of arrival between 16:00 and 18.00 hours (later by arrangement), and should be vacated no later than 10:00 hours on the day of departure.
The Dordogne region
Cenac is at the centre, and within easy reach, of all the main attractions of Dordogne and Lot, from the vineyards of Bergerac to the west, to the source of the Dordogne, gouffres and ancient pilgrimage towns in the east.
At the centre, you are really spoilt for choice, with an abundandance of chateaux to view, troglodyte dwellings to explore, rivers to follow, and medieval towns and villages to discover. Golf, tennis, cyclng, horse riding, swimming,canoeing, river trips, rambling, hot air ballooning and scenic private flights, are but a few of the activities on the doorstep.
Cenac et St Julien
In the high season, the local towns and villages hold their fetes, and it seems they are in competition to offer the best firework display. Local markets are supplemented by popular "Marches Gourmande", where you can sit with visitors and locals at long tables, and enjoy hot and cold gourmet dishes purchased from the numerous stall holders, often whilst being entertained by a local band.

"A delightful retreat in the Dordogne countryside."
Les |Aires des Buses is located in a peaceful valley, but convenient for visiting many of the interesting places in the Dordogne. The accommodations were very comfortable and we were provided with everything we needed to relax and enjoy our stay. Mr. Ellerby is a generous host, enthusiastic about his location and was able to offer many useful ideas to help us make the most of our stay. We would highly recommend this holiday home

"Apartment and pool nice, owner was rude however"
Very nice clean apartment ,pool lovely and in good location, I would recommend this apartment in a heartbeat if it wasnt for the owner John who was extremely rude when demanding our deposit in a way which was completly unnesscary as we had every intention of giving him this on the day we arrived. This upset me for the start of the holiday
Oh dear, what a surprise, I just can't believe that my request for the Security Deposit could be taken as being rude! It certainly was not intentional . . . when the guest said that she did not have the deposit immediately available, I did remind her that the terms were clearly stated that the deposit was to paid on arrival. Maybe she felt a little guilty, and transferred that guilt? Nevertheless, I do apologise if I was the cause of any upset, whatever the reason. John

"A great place of comfort, relaxation and beauty."
We were made to feel very welcome. The accommodation was very comfortable, clean with a beautiful view of the valley. We so enjoyed the swimming pool and its surrounds. It was quiet, very relaxing, had excellent internet connection with good UK TV reception too. Cenac was an excellent centre from which to see most of the attractions in the Dordogne area. The owner of the property was so helpful with information and we appreciated his kindnesses to us by ensuring we had an excellent stay at this very attractive property.

"excellent value for money"
We had a fantastic time in Cenac (near Sarlat) there is so much to do in the area from cycling, you can use road or mountain bikes, canoing and kayaking. Sarlat is like a mini london so much going on with plenty to watch and do. All I can say is wow John's apartment was lovely it had everything you needed from basic kitchen equipment to your hairdryer I can't fault the place at all and we have been going to France for 11 years now. We also had sole use of the pool whcih was lovely as the weather was hot, also the apartment stayed lovely and cool and the last night was lovely as we stayed and had a meal with John thanks again we would love to have stayed longer and will defiantly going back.

"Great Location & Ideal Holiday Home"
Just a short distance from the Dordogne River in Cenac, and very close to picturesque towns (with great restauarants and shops) such as Domme, Sarlat & Roque Gergeac, this is an ideal place to stay to explore this lovely region of the Dordogne. Check out the map of the area, and you will find this is a great place to stay. Cenac is close enough to walk to from the holiday home and here you will find shops and some bars/restaurants where all provisions can be purchased. Cenac is a quiet place but on market day like all French towns is busy and interesting. The bridge in Cenac offers great views along the river and offers places on the banks of the river for a picnic. There are 2 canoe hire places at the side of the bridge where you can launch the canoe and float downstream to Beynac, which is great fun and offers fantastic views of the towns hilltop chateaus along the way. At any age, canoeing is a must do on your holiday. The accomodation is spacious, very clean and modern with absolutely everything you need with provisions, great bathroom, dishwasher, iron, etc etc the list is endless and you will want for nothing. The outlook from the patio and swimming pool is beautiful with great views and the location on the side of the rolling countryside means you can sit out and enjoy the sun until late in the evening enjoying a glass of wine and a dip in the pool if it takes your fancy. You can't ask for anything more from this great holiday home, don't hesitate, book it! John who owns this property is very hepful, and he offers a warm welcome and he really tries to ensure that your stay is enjoyable with nothing being too much trouble. On arrival there was bread, milk, orange juice, red and white bottles of wine, beer, water, and eggs which is a great start to your holiday, and means you don't have to rush out for these provisions. Thanks John, we really enjoyed our stay and we hope to be back in the future.

"Highly Recommend for a relaxing and idyllic holiday."
We spent 5 days at Aire des Buses which was not long enough. The appartment was very comfortable with every ammenity catered for, stunning view's from the patio and a beautiful pool.The house is situated on a quiet road so very peaceful and relaxing - a hidden gem. John our host was very kind to us in an hour of need , also very informative of the area and restaurants. Aire des Buses is ideally situated for Sarlat and surrounding places of interest. We had a wonderful stay and it was good to see our local Look North news on the TV !!

"A beautiful and relaxing holiday location - don't pass this one by!"
The location was absolutely perfect, with outstanding views and countryside. Sarlat and many other towns are very close by and within easy reach of the accommodation. The accommodation itself was extremely clean and modern, with every home comfort you could ever wish for. The pool is a wonderful asset to this property (which even has it's own fridge for beers)! Nothing was ever too much trouble for John, who made us feel totally at home. This is definitely a place we would stay at again.

"Relaxing Stay in Superb Surroundings"
On arriving at this apartment you are immediately struck by the stunning view to the rear of the property, overlooking a lovely valley and what turned out to be our very own pool for the week! The apartment is extremly comfortable, well equiped and has everthing you need for a self catering stay, including the essential Cork Screw. The location is excellent within easy reach of many charming villages along the dordogne river where you'll find many superb restaurants in which to relax and watch the world go by. John our host was very welcoming and whilst he was available to provide any assistance we needed, he left us to enjoy our holiday and was respectful of privacy. Thank you John for what was a very enjoyable holiday experience in a superb setting!!

"I'd recommend this apartment to anyone"
My wife and I stayed in this super apartment for two weeks in August and were delighted with the choice. The apartment itself is modern, spacious and is very well equipped so could easily suit someone wishing to stay for a longer period. A wide range of UK TV and radio channels is available. But it is the setting which really sticks in the memory. The apartment overlooks a secluded patio area with the swimming pool just beyond and then a luscious valley with the nearest houses on a ridge about a mile away. As the owner says, a car is essential as the apartment (which is part of his own home) is about a mile along a private lane but the advantage of this is that with there being only a small number of other properties nearby, it is very peaceful and quiet. The location is excellent with three or four most attractive historic villages within a drive of 10-15 minutes and several wonderful gardens such as Eyrignac and Marqueyssac within around 30 minutes. Sarlat, about 15 minutes away, is famous for its medieval centre and its Saturday market but also has large modern supermarkets on the outskirts, though the shops in Cenac, a mile from the apartment are quite adequate for most needs. The apartment owner speaks perfect English-because he is! This, combined with his local knowledge and his willingness to provide any guidance or ideas sought is a real boon. Although we stayed on our own, it would be possible for four to be accommodated by also using the sofa bed in the spacious living area. Highly recommended.

"A so Charmant place"
We spent with my wife and my two daughters one week in Cénac in August and we enjoyed it. We particularly recommend this place. It's simply beautiful and very quiet. The flat is exactly a described on the website. The deep silence is impresive and great to have a break. Not far away you can visit many interesting cities, Sarlat, Domme, La R. Cajac, etc... The swimming pool is quite big and hot (water temperature was 25°C). John, the Owner was very discret, kind, and always ready to give many information on the region. We plan to come back in the future to this place.
