Location description from owner

The Lower Saxony region

Hanover is located on the River Leine and with about 520,000 inhabitants one of the largest cities in Germany. The town is mainly known through exhibitions worldwide. Under Duke George of Calenberg Hanover rose to a residence since 1636 and received his magnificent cityscape. That's also one raison for all these historic buildings, such as the Leine-Castle, the Old and New Town Hall, St. Mary's Church, the Opera and the Wagenheim palace. In the city center the so-called "common thread" in the form of arrows on the sidewalk makes it easy to visit 36 sights. Along the route there are many beautifully restored houses from the turn of the century, standing in contrast to the Nanas, modern street art in the form of colorful and imaginative design sculptures.

Celle

Hanover also offers plenty of green places to relax. One of the most popular is the artificial “Maschsee” in the south of the center. Here you can, depending on the season, go swimming, boating or ice-skating. In the western part of Hanover the Mountain Garden, the George Garden and the Large Garden form a green oasis. In the East of the city you will find the “Eilenriede”. This large city forest with about 600 ha is known as the green lung of the Hanover. The Hermann-Löhns-Park and the zoo are bordering on the “Eilenriede”.

Hanover is also one of the most important trade fair locations in the world. The fair ground, location of the Expo 2000, is situated in the southeast of the city.
