Rockslea is a 4 bedroom self-catering holiday home. It is ideally situated on the sea-front in the peaceful village of Cellardyke and only a few minutes walk from the busier harbour of Anstruther. This luxurious 3 storey home has astounding, uninterrupted southerly views across the water to the Isle of May, Bass Rock, Berwick Law, Anstruther Harbour, Anstruther Golf Club and beyond. The views across the Firth are amazing whatever the weather, season or time of day. An ever changing backdrop whether you are cosy in the house or relaxing in the back garden.

This scenic pathway offers beautiful walks to the nearby harbour villages of Crail, Pitenweem, St. Monan's and Elie.

The Scotland region

Outwith Cellardyke and Anstruther the nearby Ardross Farm Shop provides quality butcher meat and fresh vegetables, there is also a cheese factory with a gift shop and cafe. Scotlands Secret Bunker is a short drive away and there are also castles, gardens and beaches to be visited.

St Andrews - 'The home of golf' is only 15 minutes drive from Rockslea. You can play any of the world famous courses in the area, visit the golf museum and take on the 'Himalayas' at the St. Andrews Ladies Putting Club. St Andrews also boasts a world class golf range, cinema, sea life centre, and many shops & quality restaurants.

Dundee - Scotlands 'sunniest city' is a relatively short drive away (40 mins). Here you can find a wide variety of multi-cultural restaurants to suit all tasetbuds. You can also experience the brand new Olympia Leisure Centre, the Dundee Ice Rink, large cinemas and a quality shopping centres. The 'Discovery' Ship is a popular tourist spot in the city along with the famous rail bridge and the statue of 'Desperate Dan'.

Edinburgh - About an hours drive will take you to Scotlands capital city. Home to the Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile and the famous Princes Street Gardens. Edinburgh is also the cultural capital of Scotland and there is a wide range of theatres putting on plays, musicals and comedy shows on an ever-changing basis. Visit during the month of August and you can be part of the renowned Edinburgh Festival and Fringe. Other attractions that can provide a great day out for everyone to enjoy within the capital city include the Edinburgh Dungeons and Edinburgh Zoo.

Cellardyke

Eating & Drinking - Within 5 minutes walking distance of the house you will find several pubs, restaurants, cafes and take outs. Enjoy freshly prepared fish & chips from the famous Anstruther Fish Bar, soak up the atmosphere at the 400 year old Dreel Tavern where fresh food is prepared daily, or visit 'The Bank' a newly converted and renovated pub/ restaurant, formerly the Anstruther branch of the National Bank of Scotland.

Shopping - Anstruther has a wide variety of independent shops, an easy way to spend an hour or two. As you wander along the front of the harbour, you will find a bakery, delicatessen, coffee shop, chemist, antiques, jewellery, crafts & gifts etc. There is a good-sized supermarket nearby for all your provisions and a local cornershop, less than 5 minutes walk from Rockslea, for any essentials you may have forgotten.

Activities - This part of the East Neuk of Fife lends itself to a wide variety of outdoor activities. The 'Outdoor Centre' in Cellardyke offers bikes and canoes for hire, archery, putting and a climbing wall. Also within walking distance of our holiday home, you can find cycling, watersports, boat trips, fishing, golf, tennis and bowling. A short drive away, you will find opportunities such off-road driving, quadbiking and clay pigeon shooting.

Walking - Rockslea finds the Fife Coastal Pathway at its door. You can therefore enjoy a picturesque walk along the edge of the golf course to the next coastal village of Pitenweem, or if you are feeling energetic, an 8 mile round trip to Crail is well worth the effort. Neighbouring villages and beyond can also be accessed using the regular bus service.

Attractions - The most popular attractions in Anstruther include the Scottish Fisheries Museum, the Lifeboat Station, and a trip on the 'May Princess' over to the Isle of May where you will see a wide variety of sea birds, including puffins in the early summer. In the late summer, the Isle of May becomes home to thousands of Grey Seals as they make landfall to breed. This is normally a 4-5 hour trip running from early April until late October each year.
