Location description from manager

The Sicily region

Sicily is the largest region of Italy, with a population of 5 milion people. It has one of the richest histories starting from the ingenious people Sicuni & Siculi, Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans, Spanish and the Bourban.

Each one leaving behind a trace of their presence, even the people their physical characteristics can easily resemble a Greek, Arabic or Germanic. The Sicilian dialect has some influences from the Arabic, the French from the time of the Sicilian Vespers. Important places to visit Monreale, Agrigento, Siracusa, Piazza Amerina, Cefalù, Noto.

The hottest months are July and August, the winters are mild around 10° - 15°C.

Cefalu

Cefalu has long been one of Sicily’s most beautiful and popular resorts. Walking through the historic centre of the town you will discover charming cobbled streets lined with interesting local shops and excellent restaurants. At its heart, in the town’s main square, stands the imposing Norman cathedral built in 1132 by King Roger 2nd. The huge image of Christ Pantocrator in the cathedral’s apse is remarkable.

Close-by, the long stretch of sandy beach is popular with both locals and tourists, and as the sun sets over the sea, the promenade comes alive for the evening passegiata. Cefalu is not just a seaside resort, but also makes a convenient base from which to explore the interior of the island. A short drive away is the Madonie National Park, with its breathtaking mountain landscapes and picturesque hill-top villages, perfect for walking and cycling, and even for skiing in the winter months.

“Fantastique séjour”

Reviewed 11 Jun 2014

A découvrir absolument ! Seul défaut : L'accès en voiture est un peu compliqué ( route très abrupte)

“Breathtaking view”

Reviewed 10 Jun 2014

This house is a truly relaxed and stylish holiday home. The owner obviously takes great pride in the property and has many installations of stones or driftwood and cactus about the home plus a great herb garden next to the kitchens. The house well equipped and nothing is too precious in design You will need a car, one has to access the place winding up a hill near Cefalu. We took trips into Cefalu to eat and shop, also did longer road trips to explore. It was always so good to back 'home'. Wifi not good. Margherita was our extremely capable and charming agent, we thank her. Beautiful Sicily !!

Thank you for your review. I'm happy that you had a nice time. I hope to have you as my guests again in the future Thank you Regards Margherita
