L'Oleandro is a 1 bedroom apartment with a sofa bed in the living. From the balcony in front, you have a spectacular view on Cefalù and the sea. It is part of a small residence with a pool where you can enjoy a swim looking at this fantastic panorama.Next to the pool is the possibility for sunbathing and meet other guests while enjoying a nice espresso coffee offered by us. L'Arca is surrounded by bouganvillaes, olive groves and jasmin.
Next to the entrance of L'Oleandro is a small cosy corner under an olive tree and a larger terrace, covered by vines and palms where you can have a barbecued dinner.
As it is 3 km from the town center a car is highly recommended , as well because the road is rather steep. The advantage is, specially in the summer, nice air and a rather quiet surrounding. If you are with a bigger group you can take as well the studio " Il Jolly " which is next to it.

The Sicily region
Sicily is a beautiful island, full of wild flowers (specially in may-june) and landscapes.
A holiday in Sicily is not only for sun and beaches but as well for hiking, biking, horse riding and various water sports.
And of course Sicily is known for its history , it has been conquered by Greek, Carthagenes, Romans, Arabs, Normans, Spaniards,
French and Italians who all put their stamp on the culture. You can meet Sicilians with blond or red hair and blu eyes, but as well
with very dark features. A month time is not enough to visit temples, amphi theaters, cathedrals and castles, but as Cefalù is along the motorway Palermo- Messina it is easy to make daily trips all over the island.
Cefalù is a medieval town, full of small streets and a beautiful Cathedral, built by the Norman King Roger II in 1180.
You can enjoy, the good and tasty food in the various restaurants with terraces, either on the rocks or in de streets,
a good day in the sun on the beach or walk on the rock to see the old temple of Diana.
Cefalù is part of a Nature Park Le Madonie where you can hike and bike and admire the rare fauna and flora.
We even organize quad excursions which go through this park.
Come and enjoy sun, sea and a sandy beach in Cefalu in the villa L'Arca
Each apartment has its own terrace where you can enjoy your meals . Enjoy a swim in the plunge pool at the centre of the complex and become a lounge-lizard soaking up the sun alongside the pool. If you prefer to swim at the beach it's only a five minutes walk. After that you can stroll along the boulevard to the supermarket or walk into the old town where you can shop to your hearts content in the tiny fashionable boutiques. At the heart of the old town is Cathedral Square where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or treat the kids to the most delicious ice-cream in town and just watch the world go by. The old part of town has a lot of tiny baker's fishmonge'rs and butcher's and you can buy fruit a veg from the stalls that sell local produce. If you're looking for presents to take back home there are a couple of very good ceramic shops there too. In the evenings you can eat freshly caught fish at one of the many restaurants in the old town that have terraces overlooking the sea. For the wine-tasters there is a bar dedicated to just that, and there are a couple of pubs serving high-quality Belgian beer on tap.
Cefalu is still unspoilt and you soon get into the laid-back rhythm of everyday life where even the local cats lie out on the roofs and don't move a muscle during siesta. Let the clock stand still for you too, come and relax and watch the beautiful sunsets over the sea, you won't regret it.

"Lovely apartment with a amazing view over the bay"
Service was great, the hostess was very welcome. We stayed in a lovely apartment, with balcony and terrace view over the amazing Cefalu bay! Facilities were more than OK, a place to visit again in the future for sure! Chilling in the pool and looking over the beautiful town of Cefalu was great experience.

"A very relaxing and enjoyable fortnight"
We stayed for two weeks in apartment L'Oleandro at L'arca. The most striking feature is the location overlooking the town of Cefalu. its "Rocca" and the Mediterranean. You can even see five of the Aolean islands on a clear day. The apartment facilities are not luxurious but comfortable and sufficient. The real bonus is the terrace which is attached to the apartment where you can enjoy all meals in good weather with that spectacular view. Having your own transport is a must because, as explained in the L'Arca description, access is up a steep road which is too much to walk after a meal. However a taxi into town is just 10 Euros. We cooked the majority of our meals. No restaurant could beat the terrace. There are 3 good sized supermarkets in Cefalu. We found the Conad sores the best. Our host, Marjolein, was very welcoming and helpful during our stay giving advice on travel around the island and arranging taxis when we needed them. Travel to many of the archeological sites such as the Roman villa at Piazza Armerina and the Greek sites at Agrigento and Selinunte can be done comfortably in a day. Taormina and Syracusa would be a bit of a stretch in a day but could be done. We stayed a night each in Enna and Agrigento and it was worth it. You can get a good hotel room for 75 Euros. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
