Getting around

A car is a necessity to get around. The M4 and M5 are within easy distance. For those that enjoy walking there are many local walks that can take you to the local villages where the pubs are all dog friendly. There is a local taxi firm based in the next village and a train station 6 miles away in Chippenham taking you to Bath, Bristol or London.

Interaction with guest

I will always try to be available to hand over the keys on arrival and to welcome you to Nut Tree Cottage. I spend a lot of time with my father who lives next door and also trying to keep the vast garden up together so am always happy to be of help or just to have a chat. As the cottage does not have its own washing machine, I am always happy to do some if required.

“Picturesque peaceful pet friendly pretty cottage”

Reviewed 7 Feb 2017

The location was ideal for walks in a beautiful part of the countryside and for visiting the cotswolds villages. The cottage is very well equipped, cosy and comfortable. We were welcomed very warmly by Sally and had a wonderful break. Would visit again.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely review, it is much appreciated. I am so pleased you had a good time and that the weather cheered up for you to go walking. Would be great to welcome you again. Many thanks Sally

“Smells of pipe smoke throughout cottage”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2016

Cottage is beautiful from the outside with a traditional cosy feel inside. Our biggest problem as non- smokers was the intense smell of smoke coming through the cottage from a door leading into the owners part. The stairway always had a strong smell of smoke leading into kitchen area and bedrooms. We spent the whole 5 days shutting doors!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your comment and bringing this to my attention, obviously the door is an emergency exit for the holiday cottage but I will do all I can to eleviate this for future.
