Getting around

The area is very rural and so you will need your own car. If you wish to sightsee in Toulouse you can park your car at Lannemezan station & take a train from there into the centre of the city. If you are not driving from home you can hire a car from any of the airports or from the station at Tarbes.

Interaction with guest

I am always here to greet my guests, welcome them & show them round the gite. The day after arrival you are invited for an aperitif in the main house if you would like to come. I am here to answer any questions you may have about the gite or area, but otherwise leave you in peace! The gite is separate from the main farmhouse & so you can be as independent as you wish.

We spent a very pleasant week here the weather was very kind to us late 20's It was a very restful location and easy for us to get to the mountains there is everything one needs in the Gite just like being at home, Heather and Trevor were perfect host in the background but there if you needed them, somewhere one can easily recommend and we hope to return again soon.

“Somewhere to return to again and again”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2012

Our second visit to the Gite du Paradise and just as wonderful as before. The gite is comfortable and quiet with beautiful views from the house and of sunsets and starry skies from the garden. Trips to mountains, gardens and lakes nearby but lovely to just walk around the local 'environs'. Heather and Trevor wonderful hosts who provide a great place to stay and a warm welcome. Plan to return ....

“Fantastic, traditional French Gite set in rural surroundings”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2012

We recently spent a week in Gite Du Paradis ( Family of 4 - 2 boys (9 and 6 years). We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay. We originally booked the gite to use as our base to go off into the pyrenees to do family outdoor activities but, due to very high temperatures experienced at the time, we spent more time relaxing at the Gite and the nearby Lac de Ginome with its fantastic beach. The boys loved the big garden for kicking a ball about in, running about in and also enjoyed playing table tennis. The Gite is very well equiped with almost everything to hand in the kitchen. We had a great BBQ one night and ate out at some of the local restaurants on other nights. The best Pizzerria outside Italy, is located within walking distance (about a mile). The landscape in the area similar to the English Lake District without the typical wet weather. The access to the Pyrenees is easy froim here. Trevor & Heather are fantastic hosts and made us all feel really welcome. We will be back for definite!!! Rachel Johnson

“Absolutely magnifcent”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2012

We had a fabulous holiday in a beautiful location. We were with a friend and a 3 year old and our experience surpassed our expectations. From the beginning Heather and Trevor were perfect hosts, and the gite was homely and very well appointed - even down to condiments, herbs etc in the cupboards. The views from both the gite and the garden were wonderful, and the garden was spacious and very well maintained. This is a tranquil base for exploring this lovely, rural region of France and the nearby mountains. We would highly recommend Gite du Paradis and will return in the future.

“Lovely comfortable B & B and Gite in beautiful rural setting”

Reviewed 5 Aug 2012

We spent several nights as B & B guests in Heather and Trevor's beautiful house, before transferring to the Gite for 10 days. The house is situated off the beaten track in very tranquil, rural surroundings, yet just half an hour away from the mountains (it was handy for the Tour de France). The B & B rooms are beautiful, spacious and comfortable, and the breakfasts delicious and plentiful. The Gite, too, is lovely – very spacious, comfortable and well equipped, and throughout our stay our hosts made us feel very welcome, preparing a lovely welcome meal for us on arrival, undaunted by special dietary requirements. They were extremely helpful, especially when we had car trouble. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend both Gite and B & B.

“Luxurious gite set in beautiful countryside”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2011

We have stayed in gites all over France during the past twenty years and this was definitely the most luxurious and well equipped. The gite itself had everything we needed and several things we didn't expect, like English and French Tv. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside, we really enjoyed walking along the lanes, looking at the wild flowers, the bird life and the fantastic views; so tranquil, it was a real holiday for us townies. Heather and Trevor were so hospitable and did everything to make us feel welcome and that this was our home for the two weeks we stayed there. The gite has a lovely, extensive garden which the owners encouraged us to make full use of. We will definitely return as there is so much more to see and do in this part of France.
