Welcome to Casa al Prato in the heart of the Sienese hills. Our house is a typical Tuscan farmhouse that belonged to the property of the Count of Lucciana in former times. We are entrepreneurs but we have inherited the deep love for the countryside from our forefathers. That's why we decided to buy this villa many years ago.In this place rabbits, turkeys, roes and horses are a constant presence as well as a small fish lake with ducks and wild ducks, myrtle, broom and rosemary: a harmony of fragrances and colours that create an evocative atmosphere. And then there is the cypress-alley with century-old trees where the Count used to enjoy his afternoon walks.

The property, that dominates the surrounding countryside, spreads out over one and a half hectares which are entirely fenced. The swimming pool and the panoramic terrace offer distraction and relaxation and the possibility to have a “bath under the stars”. CasalPrato is situated just 5 km from Casole d'Elsa and 25 km from Siena in Tuscany. The holiday accommodation has three charming cottages for rent. They are isolated and independent from the rest of the property. Every cottage is equipped with heating, private parking and huge outside space furnished with table, chairs and barbecue for outside eating.

The recent restructuring of the cottages have maintained the typical style of the Tuscan countryside. The whole property, 130,000 square metres, is entirely fenced and most part is covered with oak wood. A cypress avenue brings you to a small pond with crucians and waterfowls (wild ducks and gooses). Along the small paths in the wood, ideal for walking or jogging, it is possible to meet wild animals like roe deer, hare and rabbits. The cottages offer a marvellous view from San Gimignano to the Chianti hills, from Colle di Val d'Elsa to the powerful fortress of Monteriggioni, from the Sienese Montagnola to the Medieval Casole d'Elsa.

The guests can also use a big swimming pool (16.5 x 7 m). Just a few kilometres away are: supermarket, tennis courts, golf, sports field, riding school, indoor swimming pool, fitness centres. The whole area around Lucciana and Casole d'Elsa appears scattered with small necropolis and Etruscan tombs. The numerous archaeological finds discovered in this territory start in the Neolithic time, over the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, the Etruscan and finally the Roman times. Recently during excavations at Lucciana were brought to light a huge Roman cistern with room closed through vaulted barrels that were plastered.

Typical for this area are also the "dry" boundary walls, where one stone was put on the other without the help of water or any kind of cement. The village of Lucciana lies near to the road that connects Casole d'Elsa (5 km) and Colle di Val d'Elsa ( 8 km); from here, one can easily reach the famous and picturesque places of historic interest like S.Gimignano (15 km), Volterra (20 km), Monteriggioni (20 km), Castellina in Chianti (23 km) and the renowned art towns Siena (25 km), Florence (50 km) and Pisa (70 km). The Tyrrhenian coast is just 65 km away.
