From the owner

On the Southern edge of the Beautiful Peak District National Park and overlooking the picturesque Carsington Water, Manor Cottage is a large semi detached property, over 300 years old sleeping 8 (+2) people in 4 ensuite bedrooms in a pretty village with a country pub in walking distance. The house is very spacious and comfortable with a large oak beamed living room, large sofas,central heating and a cosy log burner, a well equipped farmhouse kitchen, and 4 bedrooms (2 doubles, 1 twin and 1 king size (which can be divided into 2 singles if preferred) . Situated in the centre of the country, Manor Cottage is ideal for multi generational family get togethers, groups of friends, or reunions, There is a further 5th twin bedroom (non ensuite) that can be available on request. It has been restored to a very high standard and is the perfect base for exploring this beautiful unspoilt area. Extremely popular for both short breaks and longer holidays alike. There is plenty for all ages - great Peak District walks and cycle trails and Carsington Water on your doorstep (cycle hire and safe cycling trails, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, adventure playground and fishing). Ideally placed for Chatsworth House, Peak District National Park, the lovely market towns of Ashbourne and Bakewell, Matlock Bath and Alton Towers. There is a covered storage area for people that wish to bring their own bikes and ample parking for 3-4 cars. Free Wi Fi internet Access.

Our changeover day is a Friday, but we are happy to accept short midweek breaks starting on a Monday/Tuesday. If you are interested in a midweek break please send us an enquiry.

Interaction with guest

We have welcomed and enjoyed the huge variety of guests that stay at Manor Cottage. Guests can arrive at the cottage any time after 4pm that suits them . The cottage can be accessed easily on the day of arrival. We are based nearby and are available to deal with any issues that may arise. We are always pleased to meet our guests when possible and are happy to provide information on local places to visit, or anything else that will make their stay more enjoyable. How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Libba (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
