Description from owner

Description

A simply decorated traditional limestone 'Long Cottage' with vaulted ceilings and great views of the Burren from the garden.

Wind down the gravel track, across the cattle grid and between the fuchsia hedgerows and you will find the two 300 year old cottages at Poulaphouca, or 'Fairy Hollow'. The cottages are closely located but at right angles to each other giving privacy to both. The area in front of the cottages is common, but behind there is private space for each cottage.

Traditionally laid out with a large central reception room and sensitively decorated to retain its traditional character, the Long Cottage is paired down with simple luxuries such as an open fire, high quality bedlinen and comfy beds. It's calm and cosy - a place to relax and unwind and disconnect from the modern world.

The sitting room has two good size sofas, a dining table and 5 chairs plus games, cards, books and information on the area. Link up to the Bluetooth

The sitting room has two good size sofas, a dining table and 5 chairs plus games, cards, books and information on the area. Link up to the Bluetooth speaker to enjoy your music. Open the half doors to let the light flood in and contemplate the views.

The large bedroom is decorated with calm sage greens and greys. The comfortable beds can be made up as a twin room or a superking. There is a chest of drawers and a pegs for hanging your clothes and a trunk where you can place luggage. We can supply a travel cot and a high chair if required.

The kitchen is small, but has everything you need to cook if you wish to do so. We supply a few basics 'just in case' (salt, pepper, starter tea and coffee, herbs) but the cottage is self catering. That being said if you find you are short of something please don't hesitate to ask us. If we can help you out we will :)

The bathroom is traditional with a good shower over the bath. The window looks out onto the back garden.

The garden has tables and chairs to seat four people plus a barbecue in the shed to the left of the cottage.
