Description

This gem of a thatched cottage is over 250 years old. The Cottage is situated at the start of the world famous Causeway Coast and Glens Route, opposite the Andrew Jackson cottage on the shores of Belfast Lough. Belfast city centre is approximately 30 minutes away.

We have been rated 4 Stars by Tourism Northern Ireland.

We can accommodate 5 people, with a double bedroom and a second room featuring 2 single beds. A further single bed is available. There is a good sized private garden, complete with a great barbecue hut and a separate childrens wooden play house.

All bedding and towels are provided, and for stays of more than a week, fresh supplies will be dropped off.

Despite keeping the old world look of the house, inside and out, it has everything modern travellers would require. There’s WiFi, Apple TV, Nespresso machine and a washing machine/drier and dishwasher.

We have a dedicated free parking space and all guests are met in person with a welcome tray of local produce.

Getting around

The nearest train station is Downshire, which is approx 5 minutes away. It offers trains to Belfast and Larne. There is also bus stops within 5 minutes offering various local routes. Carrickfergus town centre is approximately 15 minutes walk away. A taxi from Belfast would be approximately £20

Interaction with guest

Guests will be met at the property and given a quick tour of the house and garden. If they have any questions about the local area, we’ll be happy to help. After that a mobile number is provided, so if there’s any problems, we can be contacted quickly. We’re based about 5 minutes away, so any issues can be sorted out as soon as possible.

How do damage deposits work?
