“Good home base, quiet setting”

Reviewed 20 Oct 2015

The setting is quiet and picturesque although the roads it's on is a very narrow country lane which took some getting used to. We were ever so grateful that Andrew and Stephanie were able to accommodate us one night early when out reserved inn in Dartmoore was found to be defunct upon our arrival. So we settled into Killiow Heights as our home base for our heritage visit in the Falmouth area. We were mknutes from gas station, main roads and grocery stores. The trailer/caravan is a modular unit with excellent kitchen, comfortable lounge and lovely views. There are a main bedroom with a small double bed and a second small bedroom with two narrow twin beds; this was adequate for us, if not ideal. Most of the bedding has feathers although we were given some alternative synthetic bedding due to allery issues. Unfortunately the pillows on the couch and dinette were also feather pillows which we tried to keep awsy from for the week, only somewhat successfully. The kitchen was outstanding with so many extras to make our stay very homey, especially cooking oil, salt and pepper, herbs, vinegar, coffees, teas, sugar and so many tools. We prepared all our meals there even though they had menus and recommendations for local pubs. Our biggest issue with the trailer was the heating system. Andrew showed us twice how to work it but the radiators never did seem to help heat it up. There is an excellent propane fireplace heater in the lounge which we used in the late evening and mornings which made us comfortable, but wd did not run it while sleeping. We hoped that the heater system would keep up overnight but every morning the inside temp was in the mid 50s, very cool to us. We slept well enough under the duvets with heavy pajamas and managed ok, but this was the weakness of our stay there. Duri g the day we'd leave the drapes open to get the sun's heatingand that helped, plus the gas heater got us warm in the mornings, so it was manageabel . Overall it worked for us as a good home base while we visited the sights of our ancestors, a very meaningful adventure.

Thank you for your detailed review, we are due an annual service on theboiler so this should improve the heating system. We hope you have a safe onward journey to Europe and it was lovely meeting you , kind regards, Steph

“A great place to sit back and relax”

Reviewed 3 Jun 2015

If you are looking for peace and quiet in a rural setting, within a short drive of Falmouth, Truro and the coast this is a perfect location. The caravan is set in a well kept garden with great views of the surrounding countryside. The kitchen in particular is incredibly well equipped with pretty much everything you would need if you want to enjoy cooking the delicious local produce. The broadband connection was excellent. Communications with the owner were very good prior to arriving and the arrangements for getting the key etc were clear and easy to follow. There is a great pub and restaurant a few miles drive away which serves excellent food and there are also lots of brilliant restaurants and other places to eat in Falmouth itself. All in all a little gem!

Thank you for your detailed review, you summed everything up perfectly! We hope to see you again soon, Kind regards, Steph Mcgovan

“Fantastic accommodation in an idyllic setting”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2014

Killiow Heights is a great location to explore both the north and south coast of Cornwall. The accommodation was exceptionally clean and easily catered for all our needs. Set in lovely gardens, it offered amazing views of the countryside and our two girls (aged 9 & 7) loved the space to run around and enjoyed playing on the rope swing. The owners have gone that extra step to provide additional items that you wouldn't normally receive on a self catering caravan holiday e.g washing machine, bath towels & beach towels which we made full use of. We would definitely choose to come back to Killiow Heights again and will be recommending this to all our family and friends should they wish to come to cornwall.

Thank you for your lovely review, its always good to know you had a great time. We welcome you back to killiow heights anytime . Thank you for recommending killiow to your family and friends, Kind regards, Steph and Andrew Mcgovan

“Exceeded expectations”

“Beautiful, peaceful and friendly - perfect for exploring this part of Cornwall”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2013

Our small family - husband, wife (7months pregnant) and 21-month old son - had a wonderful week staying in this stunning location. Yes, you are in the grounds of a house, but the family are so friendly and allowed us to use the whole of the massive garden to play in. The views are gorgeous - every night we watched beautiful sunsets from the caravan's enormous windows, while our little boy slept soundly in the back room. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable, and has everything we could have needed, with the free use of washing machine and outside seating area real bonuses. The location is perfect for Truro's amenities, but a short drive away there is so much Cornish beauty and fun to discover. This holiday was perfect for us, with the value for money of a static caravan but without the busy-ness and noise of a campsite. I hope we can come back next year (with 2 little ones in tow!)

So glad you had a wonderful relaxing family holiday in Cornwall. We look forward to seeing you next year with your new edition. Steph & Andrew

“If heaven was a holiday home "This would be it".”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2013

Fantastic stay, fantastic hosts and fantastic views. We have been holidaying in Cornwall every year now for over 10 years, and this has been by far the best venue that we have stayed at. Stephanie and Graham could not make you anymore welcomed (A1). The Caravan was ultra clean and spacious and supplied with every conceivable utensil you could need. Perfect getaway from all those busy holiday camps, peaceful, quite and relaxing.

Thank you for your lovely review and we will see you next year maybe with your family? We enjoyed our chats over the fence and look forward to a fantastic summer in 2014 Regards Steph and Andrew
