“Spacious and fairly comfortable, but certainly not luxurious, and surroundings are probabl better in summer than winter.”

We needed a place close to Carmarthen which slept at least six people. This barn is spacious, very well kept and exceptionally clean. The kitchen is fairly well-equipped and there is plenty of dining space for 8 people, likewise the living area , although we felt the lighting was poor and the large space definitely needed more table lamps. We stayed at Christmas so the weather was pretty cold, but we couldn’t seem to get the barn warm enough with the current heating arrangements. The bedrooms were a good size and the showers/bath nice and hot, but the bedding really let the place down as the pillows and duvets were coarse and lumpy. That definitely needs to be upgraded given the amount charged! We didn’t sleep much the first two nights as there was a periodic loud banging sound coming from the roof; upon inspection and inquiry we discovered that a roof felt is loose and needs securing as in windy conditions it flaps and bangs. Why it hadn't been done before is a little puzzling as it was a very disturbing noise. Outside the space was very neat and tidy but not characterful or charming - no trees or landscaping to speak of. It would suit a family with younger children as I am sure it is a good play area.

“An ideal place to stay, with every comfort/luxury”

We were there for a local family wedding. The whole family (3 months - 75 yrs) thought it was superb. The only local attraction for us was the National Botanic Garden - a fabulous day out. the thought put in was great - spare crocks to entertain visitors, for example. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a home-from-home (or better!) place to stay. I cannot comment on local amenities - we did not use them, but I would recommend Carmarthen as a lovely market town for visiting and for shopping..
