Poppy Cottage No. 2 is a lovely Yorkshire Dales cottage which comfortably sleeps up to 3 people in this 2 bedroomed cottage. Having a large double bedroom, which has twin beds with the option of making a large superking bed and one single bedroom with a single bed to the first floor. The cottage has a large kitchen/dining room with original exposed stonework and separate lounge with wood burning stove with the option of additional sleeping in the sofa bed, (extra charges of £10 pppn apply). With access to the seated garden area from the lounge. This cottage has stunning views of the hills and countryside and will appeal to those who want to escape to the countryside.. Situated in a lovely village just 2 miles and within easy walking distance from the historical market town of Skipton. With private parking in the courtyard for 2 cars. Sorry no pets allowed.

We have some lovely walks around the village of Carleton which can lead up onto the moors or which will take you across the public footpath into Skipton town. Skipton boasts a range of visitor attractions with the colourful waterways and 4 day a week street market. Skipton Castle is a must for the visitors to the town along with the fabulous walk around Skipton Castle Woods, all just off the High Street.

Getting around

Skipton train station is just 1.5 miles away with taxi ranks outside. There is also a regular bus service into the village from Skipton which passes the station. There are regular bus services taking you up into the Yorkshire Dales from Skipton bus station, these operate 7 days a week. A car would be recommended for those wanting to venture further up into the Yorkshire Dales. There a also some lovely walks around the village of Carleton which take you into Skipton. A comfortable walk into town of only 2 miles all on the level.

Interaction with guest

On arrival we will be happy to show you around your cottage, as we only live next door at Ivy Cottage Farm, the original farmhouse. We will also be on hand, should need any help during your stay. If we aren't available on the day of your arrival, the keys to your cottage will be left in a key safe next to the door, but we will aim to pop round just to check that everything is comfortable for you and talk through any queries. We will leave a welcome book in your cottage which will give you a full list of things to do and places to eat, but please feel free to test our knowledge of the area and we will happily give you advice on where to go during your stay.
