Upalong Lodge's luxurious private hot tub looks out over the paddock into the distant Cornish countryside. The dramatic double height windows fill the open plan living room with light. It is stylishly furnished with contemporary and homely finishing touches. Set apart from the Owners' home, which once belonged to the Wheal Damsel mine captain, detached Up along Lodge stands in an historic mining heritage area just outside Carharrack, surrounded by cycle trails and footpaths. The cosy living-room has a wood-burner, and opens onto to the terrace where you can enjoy the lovely countryside views and watch Barney and Albert, the resident alpacas, whilst relaxing in the hot tub. There is also a patio area with outdoor table and seating where you can enjoy a barbecue. A path leads to the the Owners' own solar-heated outdoor swimming pool (variable depth) which is available between May and September for you to share. This World Heritage Site is a fascinating area to explore and the hills and valleys are covered with a network of footpaths and cycle trails leading to many of the iconic mining engine houses and sites of industrial archaeological interest. Cycles can be hired on the nearby cycle trail and the there is a pony trekking centre three miles away. Many world famous surfing beaches are within easy reach: Porthtowan, the closest, is 15mins away. The lively port of Falmouth, just 20 mins away with good restaurants, shopping and beautiful sheltered beaches. From here you can take a variety of ferry trips to Truro, St Mawes and up the Helford river. There are too many places of interest and activities to list in full but we can promise you there you will not be bored during your stay. We live nearby and are are always ready to give suggestions on the local amenities. Porthtowan surfing beach is just 15mins away and lively Falmouth 20mins.
