The Brittany region
The cottage is situated on the edge of a traditional village, Trebrivan, and ten minutes by car from the market town of Carhaix with many shops, bars and restaurants.
Nearby is the Nantes/Brest canal, a historic waterway meandering through the Breton countryside and perfect for walking and cycling. The Black hills criss-crossed with footpaths are close by and just beyond, the moorland area of Monts d'Arée. The north, west and south coasts are within an easy one hour’s drive.
The bustling town of Chateaulin is a lovely town to visit with its bars and restaurants and the river running through the middle of the town. It is also the main area for salmon fishing.
The charming medieval town of Quimper has a magnificent cathedral, and many shops, bars and restaurants adorning its cobbled streets. Southeast of the town lies the famous Pays de Bigouden, with its wild coastal region scattered with traditional fishing communities.

"Cosy and peaceful"
We have been in France for 3 months and the 2 weeks we spent in this lovely cottage was one of the highlights. This is a wonderful base for exploring a bit of everything Brittany has to offer- forests, canals, the coast, architecture, markets, as well as many characterful towns and villages. The cottage is very comfortable and a welcoming place to come home to after a day out. Equally, we enjoyed a few days staying in and just taking in the peace and solitude this terrific rural spot offers. The cottage is light and warm and we thoroughly enjoyed the big bathtub. Everything you need is here for a fabulous French holiday away from crowds of tourists and your own little slice of French life in the Brittany countryside.

"A little gem in the heart of Brittany"
This lovely cottage in the heart of Brittany with its inglenook fireplace is ideal for a couple to explore this beautiful region of France. Located at the end of a long lane and your nearest neighbour is a farmer who gives you a big wave daily. Relaxing day trips to Mont St - Michael/St- Malo or Vannes / Carnac are no problem due to ease of accessibility to main roads. If you wish to stay off the beaten track there are lovely little town/villages to walk around and enjoy the whole French relaxed way of life. The kitchen is perfectly equipped for those who enjoying cooking from the abundance of locally produced foods either from the local markets or fresh seafood stalls. This cottage ticked all our boxes.
