Located on a hillside, overlooking a well known wine-producing valley in Pelau, Sardinia. This newly built property benefits from beautiful views on all sides and is a haven of tranquillity for any holidaymaker. The property is extremely spacious with large open plan living spaces and open terraces for most rooms. The property has been designed with the sun in mind - cool in summer but well lit and bright in the winter months. As we have a strong interest in being as eco-friendly as possible, the building has a number of features to try and minimise its impact on the environment. Property comprises 2 and 3 bedroom apartments that can also be rented as a 5 bedroom villa.
Fixtures and fitting are all of the highest quality. Stone worktops in the kitchens, along with plenty of utensils and crockery. Spacious, well appointed bathrooms. Beds have latex mattresses, high quality cotton sheets and plentiful big fluffy towels. Everything is supplied including games, bikes, children's equipment, beach towels etc
There are at least 100 m2 of terraces for the apartment (shaded at various times) - and every bedroom has access to a balcony - plus a large grassed area at the back with fruit trees (fig, nectarine, lemons)

The Sardinia region
Ogliastra is renowned as an area of great natural beauty and is a very authentic Italian experience that is still somewhat off the tourist map
The local beaches (10 mins drive) are well known for their crystal clear water and long sandy stretches. Slightly further afield there are a large number of possible beach destinations - including extremely secluded beaches accessible by foot and gently sloping beaches for those with young children.
Depending on the season there a number of activities possible. In summer the beach rules and there are boat trips up the coast. Authentic Italian ice cream is available in a number of places but Tortoli is our favourite.
There are some beautiful local spots such as Santa Maria Navarrese and a drive up through the local mountains reveals some stunning views and excellent walking opportunities. There are some lovely limestone caves in nearby Ulassai which are lovely and cool in the summer months and have guided tours.
The cantina in Jerzu is a must-visit for anyone who enjoys wine and if you come at the end of September you can witness the local grape harvest.

Perfect holiday in the most beautiful setting! The apartment (top floor) is very spacious and comfortable and equipped with everything you need and more. But all this is nothing compared to the stunning views! Absolutely fantastic! The house is built on a hill overlooking the valley and the surrounding hills/mountains. You can enjoy a 360° view on the large balcony which circles the living room as well as on the very large patio. If the beaches in the area weren’t so nice, you could stay here the whole day. The area is very calm and peaceful and apart from some birds singing and the occasional dog barking, you hear nothing at all. The silence was just overwhelming and impressive. In our modern, hectic lives we have forgotten what silence sounds like, here you can experience it every day! Rita and Carlo, the parents of the owner, are very nice people who made us feel very welcome and took good care. They even had provided a small lunch on the day of our arrival, as well as fresh fruit, milk, wine and water, so we could relax and rest after our long journey and didn’t need to rush of to the stores. It was also very reassuring to know that somebody is around and can be reached in case of problems, which wasn’t necessary at all. In the flat we found plenty of information on the area, the beaches and places to visit including restaurants. SAT TV would be nice if you don’t understand Italian, but we don’t regard this as a minus and with the beautiful starry nights we didn’t miss it all. Booking the apartment was easy and uncomplicated, all correspondence by email with very swift replies by the owner. Very accurate route description and no problem at all finding the property due to the fact that Rita and Carlo where waiting at an agreed meeting point. Great service! We would definitely go back!
