Domaine du Renne consists of two semi-detached gites. Domaine du Renne 1 is the smaller of the two with a double bedroom with ensuite suited for two persons. The gite is well presented with total cleanliness and facilities paramount. The gite is of stone construction with cool tiled floors furnished in a minimalist style. Emphasis is placed on provision of everything that is needed for a relaxing stay. The owners live on the property, away from the gite, but are available if anything is required.
The kitchen is well appointed with everything that is required for holiday cooking - however, there is a gas barbeque on the terrace so, it is anticipated that most days will be spent enjoying the superb weather cooking produce from the local markets and exploring the many wines from the Languedoc region.
The sitting room is a cool retreat that offers a large flatscreen TV showing all the UK TV channels. There is a DVD/CD player with a library of DVDs at the main house. The gite and pool area are flooded with full wi-fi access allowing connection for UK geographical content such as all the iplayer services. So if you have lots of viewing to catch up with, do not forget your tablet!
The swimming pool is 12x6 metres and shared only with the gite next door. The pool is maintained to an extremely high standard and registered with the French authorities as a 'public' pool requiring stringent health checks to be applied for visitors' protection. Quality sun loungers are provided for sunbathing or relaxing under the large integrated sunshade.
Domaine du Renne is ideally suited for a totally relaxing time where there are no pressures to do anything that you do not want to do! However, we are surrounded by some lovely countryside interspersed with towns offering markets and small restaurants worth exploring. We are right in the centre of Vin d'Oc country where you can taste the many up and coming wines from the region, visit many of the wine cuvees, walk amongst the vineyards and just take in the freshness around you!

The Languedoc-Roussillon region
During July Carcassonne hosts "Le Festival de la Cité" - series of music and dance with world class rock and classical musicians and stars of opera and ballet.
Jousts are held in the lists between Carcassonne's inner and outer walls during July and August.
During the 13 weeks up to Easter each year Limoux holds the longest running carnival in Europe. Three times a day, every Saturday and Sunday there is a procession with fancy dress, music, dancing and lots of confetti throwing!
‘La Cité' de Carcassonne?A 12th Century, walled town, restored to its former glory in the 19th Century and is now a UNESCO world heritage site. Full of shops, cafés, and bars, it is the second most visited site in France after Paris. As you might expect, it can be a bit crowded but well worth the visit for some spectacular photographs. Plan to get there for 8.30 for a few hours peace before the coaches arrive. The cathedral of St Nazaire has some of the finest medieval stained glass in the country and usually free organ recitals on a Sunday at 17.00 hrs. The newer part of Carcassonne, La bastide de St Louis (17th Century) has lots of shops, bookshops and a wide range of good, mediocre and poor restaurants. The Saturday morning market is held in the main square.?Approx. 30 mins. drive
