From the owner

Shorefield is situated in the picturesque village of Portnalong, you are close to the Cuillins, with many beautiful walks, a number of secluded beaches and island wildlife on your doorstep. The world famous Talisker Distillery is nearby and the village pub/restaurant is only a 5 minute, scenic walk away. There are breathtaking views of the nearby Cuillins and the MacLeod Tables. The location is ideal for excursions to the mountains, as well as exploring Skye and neighbouring islands.
The cottage is available all year round and short breaks of 3 nights or more are welcome. It is a wonderful setting for a relaxing family holiday, a romantic break or honeymoon, or a holiday pursuing outdoor activities, such as hillwalking, mountaineering, cycling, kayaking, fishing, photography, etc.
Shorefield is tastefully decorated and furnished to a very high standard. The luxury accommodation comprises of a modern, well-equipped kitchen, with all mod cons and access to a stylish dining area, through an adjoining glass panel door. The bright spacious lounge is tastefully and comfortably furnished, with French doors opening onto a patio area, with spectacular views over the loch. It is equipped with a flat screen satellite TV, DVD player, Music System with ipod docking station and unlimited Wifi access.
The property sleeps 6 people, comfortably, with an additional fold-away bed and travel cot available on request. There are 3 bedrooms, comprising of a master bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite (with mains power shower), a double bedroom and a twin room, both with sea views. The bedding and towels (all 100% cotton) are provided and included in the tariff.
The main family bathroom, is luxurious and has a large, double ended bath, with an overhead electric power shower.
The cottage is cosy, with central heating, double-glazing and well insulated throughout.
The private grounds consist of a parking area, with adequate space for 3 cars, a garden area with furniture, and a drying green. BBQ equipment available on request.
The cottage is strictly non=smoking throughout.
Dogs are welcome, up to a maximum of 2 and subject to prior arrangement

Excellent base for climbing the Cuillins with Glenbrittle only a short drive away. The house was immaculately clean and had everything we needed, with great views over Loch Harport.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Catherine (the owner) a message.

If Catherine (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
