Description

Sweet converted cottage in the grounds of one of the oldest properties in the Isle of Skye. Originally known as the 'House in the Glen' this property and grounds dates back to early 18th Century. The River Snizort runs along the bottom of our grounds and guests are welcome to lose themselves in our wilderness! The cottage/bothy is perfect for anyone wanting to get a break from all the hustle and bustle of the daily grind. Unusually for Skye we are surrounded by trees and the area where we live is very ancient and based on a Drover's Road. Indeed the cattle drovers used both our house and the cottage as a resting place for them, and their cattle, on their trek from the top of the island to the markets in the south. There is a golf course only minutes walk away, ancient graveyards, sea lochs, and Portree, the capital of Skye is only 5 miles away. There you will find fishing boats landing prawns, seafood restaurants, and great ice-creams. We can organise fishing permits for

The cottage/bothy has free wifi, it is self catering, but breakfast can be supplied if requested, as can home-made microwave ready meals, such as winey venison stew, chicken with cream and garlic, aubergine and mozzarella melts. It is no-smoking. But you can play your music as loud as you like whilst dancing under non-light polluted starry skies.
