“Most amazing place”

Reviewed 3 Jul 2013

Most enjoyable stay. Would definitely book again. Did not expect the Queen to come past the cottage on her way to St. Ives, so that was an added bonus.

“Wonderful cottage. Best we have stayed in”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2012

We came in November and had lovely weather. The cottage was just as described, even better really. Beds so comfortable and views fantastic. Even the day it rained we were warm, with plenty of wood and coal for the open fire. We watched seals while having our breakfast!! Thank you Annabel for letting us stay in your lovely house.

“Outstanding in every way”

Reviewed 8 Nov 2012

Booked this beautiful house for my husband for his 60th birthday and what a treat, it was like stepping back in time. Beautiful books, decor and artifacts to make you slip back into time. A short walk down through the private garden straight down through to the beach, where we watched seals within 6 foot, amazing! Across the road straight on the train into St Ives, we walked one day, but was lovely to be able to catch a train back when the feet hurt! So many rooms to lose yourself in, the views are unrivalled and you have a real remote feeling but it is also so close to everything. Beautiful bed, log fire and a real treat visually. The property is a real credit to the owner. Thanks very much Lili and Chris Blight

“The perfect location for the perfect holiday”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2012

The cottage or rather gorgeous Victorian house has to be seen to be believed. The location is just stunning and the view straight out to sea and across to St Ives couldn't be bettered. The interior is beautifully decorated with plenty of character but is was the attention to detail, like having a cupboard full of all the herbs & spices you could ever need, a selection of teas & coffee and so many more small finishing touches that made it feel so welcoming. We're certain to return next year with all the family. Thank you so much Annabel.

“Stunning property in unique position.”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2011

Had the most gorgeous week staying in this beautiful Edwardian property. The house is immaculate and feels like a very stylish home not a rental property. Nothing can beat waking up to the sound of the sea and amazing sea views as the property is set back on just above the stunning Carbis bay, good quality beds and bed linen, Have stayed in the center of St Ives before but preferred the peace of cliff cottage-no seagulls to wake you up in the morning- whilst really easy to get into St Ives by the train practically on your door step. Very welcoming and helpful housekeeper. Have stayed in many cottages throughout the UK and cliff cottage will be top of my list- can't wait to come back.

“Marvellous - like Paradies”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2011

Cliff Cottage is a wonderful and very traditional property with stunning seaviews and a 24 hrs wave sound. We loved its history and all the lovely old details, like windows, floortales, knobs and kitchentools, which could tell stories of the centuries and the people who had lived here. I loved the old cooker, it reminded me of a timetraveller's machine....wonderful!! Deborah made us a warm and very friendly wellcome!!! We loved to stay here and hope to come back soon! Whenever you plan to spend your holidays in Cliff Cottage you should love to be surrounded by antiques, simple but characterful interior and please make sure that you are willing to care for all the lovely housedetails incl. shells and collected stranded goods from the beach, if you do so, you will have one of the most unforgetable stays you ever had!

“A recipe for a fabulous holiday”

Reviewed 29 Sep 2011

With the most beautiful coastal views, this wonderful, well cared-for house with all its period features, and with everything one needs, is the perfect place to stay for an unforgettable holiday. The location is excellent, being within walking distance of shops, beach and Carbis Bay station, enabling easy rail trips to St. Ives and Hayle (where it meets the mainline to London and Penzance).

“Absolutely Perfect Holiday Home”

Reviewed 26 Sep 2011

If you like true period holiday properties, this is the one, as soon as you step inside it feels so homely and relaxing you wont want to leave!. The views are simply magnificent. The traditional period kitchen was delightful and the period cooker was a joy to use. The rooms were cosy and the open fire gave added glow on the cool November evenings. The bedrooms were exceptionally comfortable and spacious. The location gave easy driving access to many places of interest eg, Lands End & Eden Project and surrounding coastline. We will definately book this property again for another holiday in the near future.

“Location, location... A little piece of Heaven on Earth”

Reviewed 26 Sep 2011

What a wonderful few days my wife and I spent at this lovely little exclusive cottage. One of the most brilliant views ever and nobody and nothing to get in your way to block out the sea view. You have your own lawn and path to the beach. When we were there in Spring, the path was smothered in blankets of primroses - v beautiful! It is next to the occasional railway but this is a positive advantage as you get easy trips to St Ives which are fun (no need to take a car and try to find parking! You really do not notice the train at all as it is going very slowly and stopping at the station. Inside, the house is lovely and wonderful views from sitting room and dining room. Main bedroom very comfortable. Lovely sitting outside and just soaking in the sun and the sea scenery with a horizon as wide as can be. Unique and highly recommended. Our dog loved it too. We will be back...

“Heaven”

Reviewed 26 Sep 2011

I have been twice. Summers of 2009 and 2010 and wanted to go again this year too but couldn't. This place is heaven on earth. You feel like you are the master of half of Carbis Bay sitting above the wide beach with views as far as you can see. The cottage is just wonderful and peaceful too with your own drive, garden and beach access. It has the feel of the type of place I went to in the 1960's. Very authentic feel but facilities ample for a family holiday. Ideal for children. Only (very little) downside is that water heating dates with the cottage and you need to be a little patient. It is ideally placed for wonderful Cornwall and close to St Ives for when the weather doesn't let you onto the beach. Take a chance...you will love it.
