Location description from owner

The England region

With mighty cliffs and crashing waves, turquoise seas, not to mention coastal walks and stunning sea views, beautiful sandy beaches, fantastic food and a lively arts scene, you must visit Cornwall. There are so many activites horse riding, golf, surfing, you will never get bored. You have a choice of the Atlantic coastline up through Newquay to Bude, or the calmer South beaches with stunning Mounts Bay and St Michaels Mount in Marazion. There are so many things to do and places of interest to visit in Cornwall, the National Trust has many fine houses and gardens on its lists. There are quaint fishing villages such as Coverack and Portloe, Mousehole and Lamorna. Places of overwhelming beauty such as Kynance Cove, The Lizard Point and the Helford Passage. Cornwall is almost an island, cut off from Devon by the river Tamar and surrounded on all sides by the sea. The influence of the gulf stream, makes for mild weather, considerably milder than the rest of Britain.

“Fantastic break !!”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2012

We stayed at this apartment for 3 nights wish we have of stayed the week. The apartment was very well equipped with everything you could possibly want. It was very clean and tastefully decorated. The view from the window was wonderful. We enjoyed having breakfast and looking out to the sea. We have been visiting Carbis Bay for about the last 15 years and this has to be one of the best properties we have stayed in. Can't wait to return!!

“Simply fabulous!”

Reviewed 5 Jan 2012

My wife and I have enjoyed staying in this apartment four times now, most recently March 2011. Regardless of the season; spring, summer or autumn, we have really loved the wonderful ever changing views over Carbis Bay, looking out toward Hayle beach and Godrevy lighthouse. The sea and the sky constantly amazes us both. In the summer the French doors are a breath of fresh air and out of season the apartment is cosy and warm. Being a recent conversion, all the appliances, furniture and decoration are top notch and fully maintained - the place is sparklingly clean too! Carbis Bay beach with it's cafe and water sports facilities is only a 10 minute walk following the footpath directly below the apartment. Elsewhere in Carbis Bay there's a good pub, Italian restaurant and a Tesco store, all very convenient if you're feeling lazy! Quaint St. Ives, just a short walk either by road or by the scenic cliff top footpath, is well worth visiting - several times! Great galleries, fabulous restaurants, cute shops and delightful cottages set around three beaches and a small harbour. We would recommend the Porthminster Beach Cafe, The Sea Food Cafe and The Loft for delicious food, The Belgrave Gallery, New Craftsman and Millenium for great art and Seasalt for unique and slightly quirky clothing! All in St. Ives. Further afield, take the B3306 West out of St. Ives to follow the Atlantic coast road for spectacular views, secluded coves and wonderful walks. At Zennor you'll find The Tinners, a great little pub handy for a mid walk pint and just down the road The Gurnard's Head gastro pub which serves some of the best food in the whole of Cornwall. Keep heading towards Land's End and you'll come across Sennen Cove with it's spectacular white sandy beach, excellent for surfing and sunbathing. Also close to the apartment is a lovely little town called Marazion which offers direct access via a tidal causeway to the National Trust run St. Michael's Mount - well worth a visit. All in all we would thoroughly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a centrally located base in which to enjoy all that West Penwith offers.
