Arthouse is a Grade II listed former Victorian Fire Station located in the UNESCO World Heritage City of Canterbury. The property comprises of 2 King size Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Large Living Room with double sofa bed, Dining Room, Kitchen, Pato Garden and secure parking for one car. Canterbury City centre is only 5 minutes walk away.

As well as the historic attractions of Canterbury, there are plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. The trendy fishing village of Whitstable is only 10 min drive away, famed for its oysters and sea food or the beautiful Victorian seaside town of Broadstairs and stunning Botany Bay beach(England's best kept secret) only 20 min drive. Closer to Canterbury are ancient woodlands, 2 fantastic wildlife parks and plenty of idyllic country villages and pubs serving local Fayre. Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustines Abbey are both UNESCO world heritage sites along with the Westgate Towers, the medieval entrance to the city which is over six centuries old. You can visit Chaucer's Canterbury tales museum or take a historic river tour of the city. Further afield there is Hever, Dover, Bodiam and Leeds castle and rail links to London. The lovely medievel hilltop town of rye is only 1 hours drive away as well as the huge sweeping beach at Camber sands with its amazing sand dunes. you will not be short of things to do.

Great location with very easy access to Canterbury city centre, the accommodation was clean and tidy. One area that could have been improved on in our opinion, was the need for double glazed units to a couple of the property’s windows, to reduce traffic noise and cold drafts. A blind or some curtains to the dining room window would have made the property feel more private and cosy when dark.

A really good place to stay - excellent location and very interesting apartment. Close to all the many attractions in Canterbury and around. Very helpful owners. You could get by without a car as near buses and 2 Rail Stations. Thoroughly recommended

The old fire station house was very nice and artsy. I was there with my family ( 4 people in total and 1 additional person on a first night). Sebastian has kindly provided some teas, coffees and milk at the house during our stay. The beds were comfortable and the house was very quiet and clean. Clean towels were provided for every individual of us. No molds or dirt was seen in the house. The house is in close proximity to the railway station (10 mins walk), to the downtown and shopping, cathedral, Canterbury tales. The only issue that we had there was that the house was abit cold, the heater was set to be turned on 8 hr per day, it would have been nicer if the heater was run longer or continuously throughout the entire day. I recommend the place for a family gathering to have the entire house for yourself with some privacy. Sebastian was friendly and answered all our questions very well.

We stayed here for a week over Christmas and had a lovely time. It's perfectly located in Canterbury, a short walk to all that the city centre has to offer yet not amongst the hustle and bustle. I stayed here with my wife and two infant boys, it had everything we needed, with the owners adding a cot, high chair and other things which meant we didn't have too much to bring down in the car. They even dressed a Christmas tree in the lounge for us and added some decorations, so it was very Christmasy, especially with the backdrop of Canterbury and it's amazing history and architecture. It offers good sized rooms all round,with two generous bathrooms and a real quirky lay out. The owners were very helpful, always at the end of the phone, yet, left us to it, giving us our privacy. A great place to stay and discover Canterbury, we would certainly recommend it and will stay there again when we next visit. A massive thank you to Sebastian and Adelle!

The Arthouse is a great space just outside the city centre and perfectly located a 5/10 minute walk from the station. We were in Canterbury for a wedding and, as a group of friends, were looking for somewhere to stay where we could relax and get ready together in comfort rather than in separate hotel rooms. We were in the main building meaning we had 2 good size bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as a lounge, dining area and kitchen all to ourselves. Everything we needed was already there, including a great range of teas and coffees, cereals and milk etc and the kitchen, although small, still managed to house all utensils and crockery needed for our stay. A lot of love and care has obviously been put into the Arthouse and the owners have a good eye for detail, with lots of artworks (obviously!), books and nick-naks to investigate. I'd definitely return to The Arthouse and recommend it for anyone looking for something a bit different when staying in Canterbury.

We came down with our son & his family for his graduation. It was so much more convenient than an hotel, with off road parking & WiFi. Easy walk into town. We could babysit whilst quite relaxed, bedrooms are comfortable & original artwork quite imaginative. Kitchen adequate, dining area really nice-nice touch with teas n coffees etc. Only one criticism is low backed settees are difficult to relax back on otherwise a very enjoyable weekend. Thank you.
