The Goa region
Goa, on the west coast of India, has over 100 Kilometres of coastline divided between secluded bays and golden sandy beaches lapped by the warm Arabian sea. Between October and April there is unbroken sunshine with temperatures that rarely drop below 31C/91F. The pace of life is relaxed. You can spend your evenings enjoying a sunset walk along the beach or a stroll through the street markets in safety.
Candolim is located 14 kms north of Panaji in the state of Goa, one hour from Dabolim airport. Candolim Beach is a part of a long extension of beach coastline along the Arabian Sea that begins at Fort Aguada and ends at Chapora Beach.
Casa Lenas is very close to the beach in Candolim and there are plenty of shops and restaurants in Candolim Beach Road which takes you to the beach. Candolim Road is a couple of minutes walk away from Casa Lenas and has banks with ATM machines, Bureau de Change, restaurants and probably the best and largest supermarket in Goa.
There are plenty of restaurants in the general area ranging from local Indian and Goan as well as a broad selection of international cuisine including French, Italian, Seafood,Chinese, Burmese and Thai many of these are of extremely high standard.
There are also plenty of jewellery shops and tailors close by.
The main road that is the Candolim Calangute road is packed with shops and restaurants, but the beach front is rather free of any commercial activity apart from some water activities. Though the beach is close to bustling Calangute beach, life is rather laid back at Candolim. Even the village isn't very clustered, its quite spread out so there isn't any centre to it as such. The area around the beach can be termed as resort free as there aren't any resorts there. However, the beach has quite a number of inns at reasonable prices with good facilities.

"Feel at home!"
Spent a long weekend here with my husband and parents during high season (Diwali). The house is lovely to look at and very comfortable to live in. For the price, I don't think it can be beat. The two bedrooms and attached bathrooms downstairs have good beds, nice high ceilings, and beautiful mosaic bathrooms. The third bedroom upstairs is less luxurious. We didn't use it, but whoever did would have gotten the short stick. Perhaps send the kids up there if you have them? Highlight of the house is having tea in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening on the porch in back, which is quiet and pretty private. The kitchen has basic items for tea and toast but not really for cooking. We ended up having to buy oil and salt and pepper for a dinner at home. In terms of location, the beach is about a five minute walk and many restaurants around 7-10 mins away. The grocery is about ten mins walk. Also, the housekeeper is very nice and professional. Finally, there is place to park your car if you have one.
We like Casa Lenas to be 'a home far away from home' for our guests.I think we succeed since your review is 'Feel at home' Thank you for your kind and honest review.
