Our stand alone fully equipped three bedroom house is perfectly positioned on the mountain side of Camps Bay with views over the ocean and to the iconic Lion's Head. The house is full of light and has a relaxing holiday feel. Many extras.

The house stands directly on the street with driveway parking for three vehicles and quick and easy access through the front door and remote controlled garage door. The house is on three levels.

The entrance level comprises an entrance area and a guest garage right.

The second level has its own private entrance and opens into a multi use reception/living/office/TV/kitchen space. The adjacent separate glassed barbeque/braai area has a built in braai and is fully equipped. Braai with family and friends to the setting sun in the west! This opens onto a large terrace leading to a secure plunge pool which is solar heated enabling use also at cooler times. This level contains a separate bedroom 3 with a large double bed, bedside

This level contains a separate bedroom 3 with a large double bed, bedside cupboards, an antique writing table and spacious built in cupboards. French windows enter onto the grassed pool area. Next to the bedroom is a fully equipped bathroom with toilet, shower and bath.

The third level (2 bedrooms, kitchen/dining/living/balcony) is accessed through its own private entrance and opens onto a spacious living/dining/kitchen area with spectacular ocean views.

The kitchen is fully equipped for entertaining 12 guests: handmade African crockery, coffee maker, kettle, dishwasher, fridge/freezer (with complimentary bottles of our favourite local red and white wines, beer, cider and cold water), microwave, electric oven, tumble dryer, washing machine, juice maker, pantry, wine rack etc. Kitchen windows have private views of the garden and sun deck.

The glass dining table can comfortably accommodate 10 guests.

There is a reading corner with a bean bag (“fat sak”) and a gas fire for chilly evenings. A wall TV and hand made African art and mirrors on the walls complete the picture.

The area has a glass front with sliding doors offering ocean views west into the setting sun and access to a 15m long child safe balcony in maritime style with patio seating furniture. Ideal for sundowners! The whole balcony can be screened on hot afternoons by three sunsails, which can be wound down and up as required. A telescope and binoculars are available for whale watching in the season or spying on passing ships or what is going on on the top of Lions Head.

Sleeping accommodation on this level comprises the master bedroom 1 with ocean views, a large double bed, writing desk, wall TV, en-suite bathroom (toilet, bath, shower) and walk-in wardrobe. Bedroom 2 has a double bed, bedside tables and spacious built in cupboards. French windows lead into the back garden area. Adjacent to this bedroom is the third bathroom in the house with toilet and shower.

Throughout the house there is free uncapped internet access via wifi, three TVs with satellite TV (full suite of dstv premium programmes). There are safes in each bedroom. An alarm system provides full 24 hour security. There is no air conditioning but for very hot summer days large electric fans in each room provide adequate relief.

The small mountain garden bordering three sides of the house is full of indigenous and exotic plants. The “secret” garden starts from the plunge pool. Under the shade of indigenous trees the path leads on to a completely intimate and secluded teak sun deck with ocean views allowing for private sunbathing as well as relaxation in the shade on comfortable garden furniture.

We will not personally be in Cape Town during your stay but are happy to give you recommendations on places to visit, chill, wine and dine. There is a detailed Guest Book, which gives more information on the house and Camps Bay as well as our recommendations for special places in the area that few Capetonians (never mind tourists) have heard of. There is a small library of local history books and tourist information leaflets.

Our trusted and reliable maid, Adolphine, is available and comes to the house usually from 11am to 3pm if guests so desire, on all days (except Sundays and public holidays) at no extra charge to clean, launder and attend to guests' needs.

For all other queries we have one point of local contact if required in case of queries or emergencies in case we or Adolphine cannot be contacted.

Camps Bay is Cape Town's gem. Just minutes from the city, but right by the most beautiful beaches, promenade and mountain walks. TripAdvisor's 2015 Traveller's Choice Awards voted Camps Bay beach as the second best in Africa and the 11th best in the world.

We are 800m direct line from the ocean waves and a 1,7km, 3-minute winding drive down the mountain to Camps Bay's iconic beach and promenade where you will find a small shopping mall with numerous shops and restaurants. On the way to the beach there is a petrol station 400m and a mini-supermarket or convenience store 700m from the house, which is open from 7 to 9pm every day. The nearest restaurant, the award winning steak house Hussar Grill is next to the convenience store, a safe 10 minute walk.

There is direct access to the Table Mountain Nature Reserve and its many walking and climbing routes 900m or 15 minutes walk up the road from the front door.

Camps Bay is one of the most secure neighbourhoods in South Africa with a dedicated fully equipped 24 hour active Camps Bay Watch team on patrol.

The house is approximately 3 minutes drive from Camps Bay beach, 8 minutes from Cape Town city centre, and 12 minutes from the V&A Waterfront. There is a MyCiTi bus stop a few minutes walk away with links city-wide, but a private hire car is strongly recommended. The airport is 30 minutes drive away. We can recommend a safe limousine or small private bus pick up service for R400 each way. Hire cars can be delivered to the property. We often recommend this to guests coming to the city for the first time. The same company provides good private wineland tours for groups if no driver amongst our guests wants to forego winetastings.
