The Region of Murcia region

The Costa Calida, known as the Warm Coast, is situated in the south east corner of the Iberian Peninsula. To the north lies the Costa Blanca and to the south is Almeria. There are some 250km of coastline and it benefits from around 320 days of sunshine per year with temperatures ranging from 18C to 38C in the summer season and around 12C to 22C during the winter season.

The many sandy beaches make the Costa Calida a very popular holiday destination with both the English and the Spanish.

Camposol

Camposol: -

Camposol, which translates as 'Countryside in the Sun' is situated 12kms (15 mins by car) from the lovely beaches of Mazarron. It is predominently a residential area and therefore respect for those living close by would be appreciated. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing break then this is the place for you. A superb inland village has been created with supermarkets, several restaurants, bars, including sports bar with Sky Sports, racing etc, shops, banks, and hairdressers - all within a short drive of Casa Centelles, without even having to leave Camposol itself. Restaurant choices include 2 Chineses, Indian, Italian, Spanish and English. There is also a petrol station on site.

There is an 18 hole golf course, within a 3 minute drive, where as long as you have your handicap card, you can play. At the golf course you will also find a luxury clubhouse which serves food and drinks and has weekend entertainment, together with the driving range where a bucket of balls costs a modest fee.

The Sensol Hotel luxury spa hotel is now open, offering spa treatments and spring water spa pools - an amazing experience and great for easing away the aches and pains after a days golf.

Close by is the new Polaris World resort of Condado de Alhama with its brand new superb 18 hole golf course.
This is about a 10 minute drive from Casa Centelles door to door. Have all the facilities on hand and yet still be able to escape back to a fabulous location with restaurants and bars all within easy reach.

Mazarron - Where the mountains meet the sea...

Mazarron is a small Spanish town and is situated 25 miles from Murcia. The main town has banks, indoor produce market, medical facilities, shops and restaurants, while 5 minutes drive away is Puerto de Mazarron.

Puerto de Mazarron : -

Puerto de Mazarron has superb sandy beaches and secluded coves, a harbour and a marina. There are many excellent bars and restaurants to choose from where you can delight in local dishes and practice your Spanish at the same time!

The paseo has been extended and now reaches down to El Alamillo and a walk along here is a lovely way to pass the warm evenings. Apart from tourism, the region is famous for farming and agriculture. Most of the tomatoes in British supermarkets come from this area.

Sports:-

Mazarron is one of the most important tourist centres for marine and sub-aquatic activities in Spain. The frequency of prevailing winds throughout the year in the Bay of Mazarron means sailing instruction and practice can be undertaken at any time of the year. Furthermore, the clear waters and rich flora and fauna offer the diving enthusiast some highly interesting underwater depths.

But Mazarron is not only sea, but land & air too, from hang-gliding to rock climing thre is much to see and do in this unspoilt corner of Spain. Walking, Cycling and Horseriding are just some of the activities available in the local area. If you like adventure sports and being close to nature, you are in the right place.

Sierra Espuna:-

To the north of Mazarron, through Totana or Alhama, you will find the beautiful national park, Sierra Espuna. The views are spectacular and along the journey you will find a few small bars and restaurants serving good quality and reasonably priced food. There are a number of walks signposted and if you are lucky, you will see some wild boar and red squirrels. See a different side of Spain as here there is not a beach or swimming pool in sight.

“best villa we stayed in”

Reviewed 29 Jun 2013

This villa was just so beautiful , better than I was expecting . Lovely garden setting , you could spend all day there and just relax . Kids loved the heated pool . Good size bedrooms and clean and well presented . A large kitchen and lounge even if there was a large group there is plenty space for everyone to sit and enjoy . Better than our previous experiences we had . Definitely would recommend this villa to friends and family .

“Fantastic Villa - you could not ask for anything else !”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2013

We have just come back from the villa and had a great time. June the owner could not be more helpful when booking everything and when you arrive there is a great handover and Andy was just down the road incase we needed anything. The Villa is of a very high standard on a huge plot - and we could not have asked for anything more - the only thing I would say is that you need to be prepared to drive most places as there is nothing close by although the main central area is only about 3 miles away with supermarket and restaurants. It does state this in the details and it made no difference to us as we are used to staying in private villas that are usually in residential areas. Lots of nice places to visit and plenty of sun, great food and a relaxing place to do it all in - I would definitely recommend this villa to anyone. Thanks

“Best villa ever stayed in”

Reviewed 26 Jun 2013

We stayed with a group of 8 friends in this villa in June. Everything about the villa was more than we'd expected. It was exceptionally clean, well decorated with all of the amenities we could have wished for. We loved lounging round the pool and the outdoor beer fridge was a real bonus! Will definitely be booking again for next year, maybe it will even become an annual event.

“Beautiful villa with all the mod cons you could ever need”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2012

We stayed at Casa Centelles during half term. The villa is exceptionally well kept, with top of the range furniture. it is totally private, the pool and gardens are wonderfully laid out. This is the nicest villa we have stayed in on Camposol and will definitely be back.

“Absolutely fantastic villa and the owners are so helpful. Utopia!!”

Reviewed 5 Apr 2012

From the initial email to the booking nothing was to much trouble. I dealt with the owner - June, who was so forthcoming with information on the property and the surrounding area. Once we booked my wife drove June mad for local information on restaurants and bars all which were excellent recommendations. As for the property, I can only say that everything met and exceeded our expectations. The kitchen had every possible gadget including a dulce gusto coffee machine and all mod cons. The lounge area had comfy sofas and a large tv with sky access and wifi access. We regret only booking 10 days, we will return for a 3 to 4 week break. During our stay the heated pool was cleaned and serviced and was well worth the extra.

“Stunning”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2011

This villa is absolutely stunning, you couldn't ask for a better villa. Leather sofa's, air conditioning in all the rooms. Gorgeous decor. Pool is lovely, nice and big. Very nice area to be in, everyone speaks English. Good selection of pubs, restaurants and shops near by and also near the golf course! Can't think of one bad word to say, would definitely recommend and would go back.

“Luxury promised Luxury delivered”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2011

We stayed at Casa Centilles for 10 nights in July 2011 and the villa delivered everything as promised. It was the complete getaway from it all were looking for. The traditional Spain - beaches, towns and countryside are all in easy reach providing you have a car. Camposol has a large well stocked supermarket and a variety of restuarants/bars these are a short drive from the villa. We had a fantastic holiday.
