"The Atelier is a warm and classy place, rich with the feel of Umbria. Our spirits have been soothed and our souls revived."
Ron & Francesco, Georgia, USA
The Rocciaviva Atelier/Architect's Dream House (a perfect honeymoon destination!) is perched just above the olive groves at 600 meters with incredible views of the Umbrian valley below. It's a unique place where the old world meets new - a stylish loft nestled at the edge of a peaceful Mediterranean forest. Created by architect Martin Stubenrauch, it is a perfect spot for people who want to be surrounded by an impeccably designed space with both charm and sophistication - and all the comfort you need. A contemporary aesthetic mixed with the warmth of the old world, the Atelier will appeal to those who are attracted to the playfully eccentric.
The architect used his love of clean lines and open light filled spaces in partnership with his sensibility for the Umbrian tradition that carries with it the wonderful stone and iron work of fine craftsmen – the entire place becomes a celebration of breathtaking views over the 10th century Castello of Campello Alto and the splendor of the Valle Umbra.
Despite it’s seemingly remote position, Rocciaviva Atelier is perfectly centrally located in Umbria – within 35 to 60 minutes you reach Spoleto, Assisi, Orvieto, Todi, Montefalco, Bevagna, Perugia, Norcia and other wonders of this region.
Seeing is believing! Once you step foot inside Rocciaviva Atelier, that has some of the whimsical qualities of a tree house combined with the hipness of a Soho loft, you’ll immediately feel at home with the beautiful travertine floors, custom made doors and windows, and above all, the fine sense for design. A contemporary aesthetic mixed with all the warmth of the old world. (Of course it is also fully heated.)
The kitchen is fully equipped with marble counter, dishwasher, stove, oven, refrigerator, and complete cooking utensils - all it takes to prepare and enjoy delicious Italian meals at home
What a beautiful treasure! Rosemary & Jean Michel Avril, Australia & France
You will wake up to the same breathtaking view you fell asleep to when
the medieval castle below was splendidly lit. The open sleeping loft has
a generous closet space and a double bed with European style feather comforters. It is absolutely quiet and peaceful.
This bathroom is like a “Smart Car”: well designed, elegant and highly functional – you’ll be amazed how it all fits.
"It’s been brilliant! What a wonderful spot for the first week of our honeymoon, we’re sad to be leaving the trees and bird’s eye view of the beautiful Castello below. We shall be telling our friends about this place!"
Rhian & Chris, Edinburgh, UK
After three weeks we have so many happy memories here. The Atelier was perfect and we couldn’t have found a better place for our honeymoon – the days here were truly special. Kelly & Paul Ort, Baltimore, Maryland
The Atelier is so very comfortable and cared for, the views are outstanding; our experience here was incredibly peaceful.
Ian & Elsperth Ross, Scotland
I now know what it feels like to be perched above one of the most beautiful places on earth up here in the Atelier. It’s a perfect blend of Swiss Family Robinson and all the comforts of home in a unique & truly gracefully designed place!

The Umbria region
Umbria (known as the Green Heart of Itlay) is a magical and
diversified region where people usually find more things to do here than they
have time for. There are wonderful paintings, churches, and artifacts to see,
as well as incredible hiking. Each hill town has its own attractions to take in
as do the wonderful towns in the valleys. (including Spoleto, Montefalco, Bevagna, Spello, Assisi, Perugia, Norcia, Todi, Orvieto and Foligno)
Umbria is a treasure to be discovered and has already been by many. One can also be in Arrezzo and Cortona in 1 hour, in the incredible town of Gubbio in 90 minutes, it just depends what you want to do with your free time. You will not run out of things to do. Rome is only 75 minutes away from Spoleto by euro star train.
Spoleto is the home of the world class festival Due Mondi in early July as well as Perugia hosting the incredible Umbria Jazz Festival also in July.
Campello sul Clitunno
Regarding restaurants, there are many to choose from ranging from the basic
and simple trattoria to more elegant and ambitious ristorante ... many
within 20 minutes or so, and others a bit further and well worth the 35
There are numerous small super-markets within 15 minutes, specialty stores
galore (also wonderful local wines!) and 3 enormous supermarkets "American
style" 25 minutes away. Campello has 2 good butchers and across the piazza is the local vegetable store where you will find wonderful fresh fruits and vegetables and let's not forget the splendid pasta fresca specialties of "Laura".

"That's the way we like Italy the most"
The location, the view, the quietness. Really amazing. Real italian countryside, with lots of cultural outings. Great variety in things to do and to go to. Nice neighbours. The Atelier is good for two persons for a few weeks. Very nice to have your breakfast or dinner outside with the remarkable view over Campello Alto. I can just say: Do it!
We appreciate you taking the time to review our property, it means a lot to us that you did so and even more that you enjoyed yourselves. Thank you very much. We hope to see you in the not too distant future. We know that the first time driving up here can be challenging to some, but have heard time and time again, that the rewards of the property make it worthwhile. Sincerely, Karen Bamonte
