Description

This former Principle Light Keeper’s house has been recently fully refurbished to a very high standard and provides comfortable and spacious accommodation for two guests.

Situated on the small island of Davaar near Campbeltown on The Mull of Kintyre. The Lighthouse Keepers Cottage is the former home to the Island’s Lighthouse Keeper and is situated in the Southern tip of the Island next to the Lighthouse itself. Whilst the Lighthouse is now automated, we have recently lovingly converted the house into a beautiful & cosy holiday house from which to get away from it all. The island is accessible by 4x4 or on foot at low tide (twice a day, check with us for tide times).

On the mainland there is a small parking area where you can leave your car and we will transport you and your luggage across by landrover. There is an enormous sense of peace and quiet staying here, and near 360 seaviews, surrounded by outstanding scenery and briming with sea life (otters, dolphins, golden eagles, peregrine falcons and even Minke Whale are all seen off the shores of the island).

ABOUT THE LIGHTHOUSE KEEPERS COTTAGE

The house is detached with its own private fenced in garden. The buildings to the right within the compound are vacant so the space is your own.

There is a large double bedroom with kingsize bed (with electric blanket), bathroom with shower/wc. Also on the first floor is a comfortable separate sitting room with a large supply of books and games for relaxing on rainy days. On the ground floor there is a large open plan kitchen/dining/ sitting room with cosy wood burning stove (unlimited supply of wood). The kitchen is fully equipped with all modern conveniences including induction hob, decent sized fridge and separate freezer unit. Microwave, dishwasher & washing machine also. Off the kitchen area there is an office with bureau and a futon which can be made up into a further bed should it be required. There is a further cloakroom/shower/wc on the ground floor.
